new updates on the theme songs. I swear this anime is like Fairy Tail in how they change the theme songs frequently.
This year's 44th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that the Black Clover anime will enter its ninth cours (quarter of a year), and will have a new opening and ending theme song. The six-member group EMPiRE will perform the show's new opening theme song "RiGHT NOW," and Kalen Anzai will perform the ending theme song "Jinsei ha Senjō da" (Life is a Battlefield). EMPiRE previously performed the third ending theme song for the series.
was a clip show where you have characters make commentary on flashbacks through something. For Black Clover, it was letters. The new content occurred around 20 minutes deep in the show.
Trivia - Yuno has nice handwriting and writes pretty concise whereas Yuno write messy but likes to explain things into detail.
We beat the guy with a new sword. Kind of lost track of how many swords. Believed it's three swords. Asta's other sword only removed the magic but the effects of poison linger. This new sword can remove poison and negate the elven reincarnation spell. Have to wait for more info.
They attempted to death flag the father. It was too predictable.
They up the animation like they do between Asta vs Ladros and Julius vs Licht/Patry. However, this was short and low budget given how blurry it was. Asta's antimagic is a bit conundrum. The Luck elf was able to hit his sword with such force. He's able to sense Asta in a way if his mana doesn't touch something, it's Asta. You can't detect Asta because he has no mana. That was a neat way to do it.
Luck's story has more impact because they had more screentime to develop Luck and his friends desperately trying to save his life before the elf inside him could make things worse.
The only problems I had with this episode and the arc is the elves - I can't really feel sorry for them in their crusade against humans whether it's the racism wasn't executed, elves having more screen time as normal, or more humans being villainous to elves
The friendship thing is fine. Reminds me of Fairy Tail with La cooking up food to help revitalize her friends.
Bit of a set up episode, the next episodes will probably focus on Noelle's family. I do like how Noelle's relationship with her siblings is evolving. She had a lot of character development that is going to build on top of this based on the preview. She's basically a doppleganger of her mother who is just metal instead of water based magic.
New info - the older woman who was set up for an arranged marriage with Finral or Langris is the daughter of the king. That was interesting.
Compass girl's abilities over complicate things in the match. Noelle blossoms her magic just like Zatch Bell. The narrator explains in crisis, people gain new spells.
Nozzle is a big tsundere. Reminds me of Byakuya in terms of their relationship. The other two siblings were toxic. The older brother didn't stop them so it was partly his fault but he did want to protect her, prevent her from joining the battlefield.
We moved on to the Langris family though it's mostly on the brothers as Langris Elf is attacking the king. I'm surprised the King has magic. Though, it's expected he's weak. He's only there because of nepotism and noble blood.
Yet, their spotlight falls short compared to Noelle's family because we randomly cover Jack's backstory.
Jack whose ability can somehow cut through space. Because he wants to cut through everything. That was one conflict I had with Jack in terms of power progression. It felt random. I forgot whether it was PIS or CIS.
For Finral to sneak in and teleport his brother whose elven soul was seething in rage, that part makes sense at least. The episode title is spatial brothers and Finral needed that character development. Yami and Jack are there to support.
The bright side is that we get info on Patry's end goal, putting their hideout in the pedestal of the castle which will complete the elven reincarnation.
We had 2 separate battles: Dream world with Dorothy Unsworth and then Asta vs Gauche and his sister, Marie. Not sure why we need to recap Henry's backstory especially repeating the same scenes due to it's more about Henry repaying Asta.
Off topic - this is why I don't think anyone especially Asta has light speed for combat speed or reaction timing. He's fighting against the mirror guy whose attacks don't seem quick. Same with Patry.
The unexpected character development for Charmy as well most random yet clever use of the phrase "wolf in sheep's clothing" contributed to opening up the Black Clover mythos with the inclusion of dwarves. Charmy just discovered she's half dwarf.
We had 2 or 3 races: humans, elves, and demons. Now, dwarves. It's feels more fantasy now.
The series pulled a Naruto on who betray who chain/who is puppeteer who chain with the Demon coming out. Turns out Asta has a demon too. It might be the "Migi" type since it's not killing him due to Asta being defective, born without magic.
Dark Elf was a hilarious and predictable naming scheme.

Dream: My second Funi poll is done. Titles I will be watching and reviewing will include Chobits, Samurai Champloo, Spice and Wolf, Gankutsuou, and Dance in the Vampire Bund. Will let folks know which one I start off tomorrow at some point.
Jan 11, 2020 5:39:30 GMT
Dream: First anime I will sample among the Funi titles is Chobits. As a heads up, the series on Funi's Youtube channel is missing the two recap episodes the series aired. Not that I'll be missing those however.

Dream: Hmmmm... looks like the version of Vampire Bund I'm seeing on Funi's YouTube channel's an edited version. A couple minutes of episode 2 were clearly removed with Mina in nothing but underwear battling human assassins. Then again, recall there was a good...
