Plot: "Where...am I...?" Before he knows it, Kirito has made a full-dive into an epic, fantasy-like virtual world. With only a murky recollection of what happened right before he logged in, he starts to wander around, searching for clues.
He comes upon an enormous, pitch dark tree (the Gigas Cedar), where he encounters a boy. "My name is Eugeo. Nice to meet you, Kirito." Although he is supposedly a resident of the virtual world – an NPC – the boy shows the same array of emotions as any human being.
As Kirito bonds with Eugeo, he continues to search for a way to log out of this world. Meanwhile, he remembers a certain memory deep down within him. He remembers racing through the mountains with Eugeo as a child... A memory that he should not have in the first place.
And in this memory, he sees someone other than Eugeo, a young blond girl. Her name is Alice. And it is a name that must never be forgotten...
I wish I could add images. Last Friday, I really had fun with this first episode which was 40 minutes or more, it was like 2 episodes put together.
I had to Tweet this scene since posting images would take too much time. I have to comment on past week's episodes of Fall 2018. Sword Art Online is weird. There is a bit of yaoi baiting sprinkled in the series. We did get yuri in Asuna's arc with her friend in Rosario. For the yaoi, it was subdued and spread out. I'm glad to see Klein and Egil and the gang. I don't think Suguha was there.
I thought this world where Alice and Eugeo was confusing. I was like when was this? They haven't had a VR game with full dive before Sword Art Online. Things got cleared up, it was a dream world from the results of the Alpha testing of a game by Kirito who cannot remember because every time he does alpha testing, his memory of that dream" gets erased.
I didn't expect Sword Art Online to delve deep into science of the soul and theories. There was talks of the novel, Alice in Wonderland mixed into it. There is some serious substance for a discussion there.
Asuna's affection much to Sinon's concern has reached a new level. While I do see the benefits of having Kirito's heart beats and vitals monitored and seen by Asuna for emergencies, it speaks of volumes of Asuna and Kirito's relationship. Despite the romance, the girls in Kirito's circle are pretty smitten.
They went on about the villain from the first season whom I hate for not having a solid motive, he forgot why he put the players' lives in a death game. The anime tries to add that there was more to it. I sort of it find it dubious but at the same time, we don't really know much about Kayaba? (I forgot his name)
I watched last Saturday. I never had a chance to comment. I'm dead tired to post images and work's tomorrow morning.
The episode had a strange feeling. It's slow and short but yet, it feels good to see the show taking its time to introduce and reveal world building and the mechanics compared to season 1 of SAO where things were rushed.
They probably explain. I thought he was in the game world. Or some type of game world.
Six years has passed. Eugeo assumes Alice is still alive in Central City after being taken.
The slow part of the episode was spent on the demon tree. IN this world, the folks follow Taboo Index and their calling which is a form of occupation that they cannot change, I assume. Eugeo is a carpenter whose generation have been hacking the tree 2,000 times a day for hundreds of years. The demon tree is draining the fertility of the land?
The important part is Kirito is forgotten in this world, his memory of this world and the people's memory of him.
reminds me of how he introduce bread with butter to Asuna
Taka: Thanks Master Menos! I'll work on finishing the Winter 2020 guide.

Dream: My second Funi poll is done. Titles I will be watching and reviewing will include Chobits, Samurai Champloo, Spice and Wolf, Gankutsuou, and Dance in the Vampire Bund. Will let folks know which one I start off tomorrow at some point.
Jan 11, 2020 5:39:30 GMT
Dream: First anime I will sample among the Funi titles is Chobits. As a heads up, the series on Funi's Youtube channel is missing the two recap episodes the series aired. Not that I'll be missing those however.

Dream: Hmmmm... looks like the version of Vampire Bund I'm seeing on Funi's YouTube channel's an edited version. A couple minutes of episode 2 were clearly removed with Mina in nothing but underwear battling human assassins. Then again, recall there was a good...

Dream: ...deal of controversy with the series a decade earlier thanks to the seemingly underaged nudity of Mina while in her younger form.

Dream: Not sure if I should be donning the nostalgia goggles or not giving a damn. Looks like the original Digimon Adventure series is getting a reboot airing starting in the Spring season.
Jan 21, 2020 3:21:13 GMT
Taka: I'll watch it if there's nothing catching my eye in Spring. winter 2020 was a weak anime season for me.
Jan 22, 2020 18:29:46 GMT
Dream: Wouldn't say it's all bad for me. Have a few titles holding my interest. Just it typically doesn't have as many major titles of note that would hold me over.
Jan 22, 2020 23:54:44 GMT
Dream: Done with Vampire Bund. Will be working on a review of it before I hop into the next Funi series. Hoping to get it up either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how lengthy my thoughts get.
