I thought I created the thread for the past OVA news. I guess not. The franchise has been getting new OVAs over the years.
This is an informal thread just to keep tabs on the news.
Info on this video
The official website for the Strike the Blood anime franchise began streaming a promotional video on Sunday for Strike The Blood III, the third Strike the Blood original video anime (OVA) season. The video description reveals that the new season will have five home video releases.
The home video releases will ship on December 19, March 27, May 29, July 24, and September 25. The season will cover up to volume 17 of Gakuto Mikumo's original light novel series, as well as the end of the "Holy War" (Seisen) arc.
The official website also revealed more cast members:
Sayaka Senbongi as Yuiri Haba Kaede Hondo as Shio Hikawa Misaki Watada as Glenda Lynn as December Hikaru Akao as Carly Shun Horie as Rogi Anzu Haruno as Raan Kousuke Toriumi as Takehito Senga
The site additionally revealed more staff and the theme song artists. Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets will perform the opening theme song "Blood and Emotions" and Risa Taneda will perform the ending theme song "Love Stoic."
Taka Isn't that basically the same as the second season though? Second season was an 8 episode OVA series that was announced beforehand as well. I wonder actually why they have gone OVA only since season 1.
Taka Season 2 is in fact purely OVA episodes, just like season 3. The odd thing is that season 1 is a 24 episode season that aired on tv, while every subsequent season is an OVA. Yes those OVAs are regular episodes around 24-25 minutes in length, the standard as they're including the opening and ending theme every episode. I think censorship shouldn't be the issue to be honest. I've seen half the second season and it contains less content that even can be censored than any horror show i've seen. There's the occasional censorship of scenes with sexual innuendos or the once or twice that i can remember that nudity was a thing, but i do honestly not remember any reason as to why they would go the OVA route for that as it's censored anyways. Maybe they have an issue with revenue?
Actually never mind nudity is probably the reason.
Yeah, I was thinking of graphic violence when talking of censorship since I don't know if the LNs were violent or not. I never thought there was nudity in Strike the Blood. It look like a tame harem series compared to the likes of Testament of Sister Devil, Hybrid x Heart, High School DxD

Dream: Hmmmm... looks like the version of Vampire Bund I'm seeing on Funi's YouTube channel's an edited version. A couple minutes of episode 2 were clearly removed with Mina in nothing but underwear battling human assassins. Then again, recall there was a good...

Dream: Not sure if I should be donning the nostalgia goggles or not giving a damn. Looks like the original Digimon Adventure series is getting a reboot airing starting in the Spring season.
Jan 21, 2020 3:21:13 GMT
Taka: I'll watch it if there's nothing catching my eye in Spring. winter 2020 was a weak anime season for me.

Dream: Wouldn't say it's all bad for me. Have a few titles holding my interest. Just it typically doesn't have as many major titles of note that would hold me over.

Dream: Done with Vampire Bund. Will be working on a review of it before I hop into the next Funi series. Hoping to get it up either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how lengthy my thoughts get.
