In anticipation of the Mobile Suit Gundam series' 40th anniversary in 2019, the Gundam Global Challenge aims to develop a full-sized Gundam that can actually walk. According to an economic journalist, the Gundam would be situated near Tokyo's Haneda Airport, reach 18 meters (60 feet) in height, and demonstrate to the world Japan's peerless technological prowess. It is also alleged to enjoy support from the government of Shinzō Abe, which is determined to build the Gundam to win back popular approval. "The Abe government is determined to do this," the journalist claims.
The plan has generated discussion in Japanese newspapers, television shows and web forums, much of it critical. On December 7, the Tokyo MX talk show 5-ji ni Muchū! ("Lost in Thought at 5!") addressed the plan. Television commentator Matsuko Deluxe (right) expressed skepticism that Abe was really behind the plan and claimed that "nobody" agreed with it. He was dismayed at the price tag (80 billion yen, or $650 million), saying, "If it takes 80 billion, make the real thing." The program's MC, Ryō Fukawa, agreed, saying that while a walking Gundam would be impressive, it would cost a lot. He implied that walking alone wouldn't be enough to justify this: "Why can't we make a mobile suit? We could go to space and fight the Zeon army."
Fate can be cruel. Akihiro finds his brother who is part of an abusive pirate crew. Though, he doesn't know that latter part. His brother's comrades swore revenge due to Mikazuchi killing of their crew members last episode.
Kudelia has issues not being useful. Orga needs to hire a doctor.
Meanwhile, we see more of that Gjallarhorn men.
Good episode - mix of action and character development on 3 sides.
Cruel twist of fate slaps Akihiro. First time, I seen a mech uses a hammer in this series. Then again, I haven't seen a lot of gundam shows, only watched Wing and G. I didn't see any Gundam using hammers either.

Amazing fight animation with Gundam Barbatos, Mika's like a yandere type of hero thats naive, a lil weird but interesting at the same time. The last part of the show tho, Mika kissing Kudelia was outtanowhere, I was not expecting that at all, also loved her reaction instantly backing off and was like *wait... wtf?* this is turning out to be one of the best gundam franchise I have seen lol.
Marvelous job, wasnt expecting to have a WTF moment before ending 2015.

They changed the theme songs. I like the first opening since it was memorable. Every time it comes on, "raise your flag" stays in your head.
Unlike Gundam Wing, this show explores a bit of romantic relationships. Depending on your preferences, you may find the romance aspect good or bad. I didn't mind the lack of romance in Wing. It wasn't forced in. Most series just shove a romance element and don't do much with it.
I thought Atra was going to die. Maybe Fumitan is going to die in the next episode? This episode features Biscuit and Atra's character spotlight. Fumitan's betrayal was revealed, but Kudelia wouldn't believe it.
Despite Fumitan's sad farewell, my tears were dry. I didn't feel anything. Some folks might have issue with Kudelia's character. While we have past flashbacks on Fumitan and she has been with us for 16 episodes, I didn't get what she was fighting for. Her boss has his motives. She was there to help her boss by using Kudelia. What was in it for her?
Kudelia has some good character growth. With Fumitan's death last episode, she finally grew and did something. I don't want to imply that Fumitan was restricting her. I think Kudelia is just naive and hasn't did anything on her own.
Episode was strange. We got a flashback of McGillis's flashback but through Gaelio's viewpoint. It didn't show much other than McGillis's background isn't blood related. Assume he's not born into money or nobility.
Like Ein's character. Hope he doesn't die. We don't have a lot of antagonists with a strong desire to beat Mikazuki's group.
Dream: Spice and Wolf's the next title I'm rewatching. Stay tuned.

Taka: My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo was probably Ep 22.
Feb 3, 2020 5:22:08 GMT
Dream: The one with zombies excavating for treasure? Think that one's the most out there of episodes in the series. Mine's probably the one involving Mugen busting a counterfeit coin ring while trying to get nookie from a ninja girl disguised as a prostitute.

Master Menos: Updates complete. As for a life update, I'm quitting my fast food job soon. Was good for my very first job, but things are getting FAR too chaotic for my tastes.

Dream: Far as job front goes on my end, still waiting on projects to start up with my freelance job. Beyond that, nothing new for other work in my search.

Dream: Just completed Spice and Wolf. Plan to work on a review for it sometime tomorrow. Too late to have any inhibition to get one done from my end.
Feb 7, 2020 3:17:29 GMT
Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.
Feb 7, 2020 5:19:21 GMT
Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.
Feb 9, 2020 3:24:18 GMT
Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.
Feb 11, 2020 2:11:38 GMT
Taka: What? That sounds so weird.
Feb 11, 2020 5:36:23 GMT
Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.
Feb 15, 2020 16:50:30 GMT
Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
