Valkyrie drive was an okay anime over all, the first six episode were below average, but it started to be fun after it, and the final episode was just great with how over the top it was. Yuri Kuma Arashi I drop midway watching the first episode lol. YuruYuri I have seen before, but is just not my preference. IDK what that last anime is.
Also a great yuri manga to read is Yuricam, is hilarious, but unfortunately no official released in English and only 18 chapter are translated. Warning, the series does have sex, lot of it, but not explicit.
After watching the video, the older days, yuri manga were written by women for women, empowering them. Compared to today, most yuri are fan service heavy and only serve to titillate men who are into this like a fetish.
Taka, I actually really like stuff with action and fighting scenes so those will do nicely, I wasn't completely sure where to start with yuri because there are quite a few titles. Thank you very much, sorry about not being very specific. Are these super rapey like maiden rose or a bit more mellow? Just curious, again thank you for your help in this matter Senpai.
jimeejo: Yeah, none of the shows that Taka pointed out even had rape or borderline rape scenes. Three good Yuri show that I did come across were Aoi Hana, Strawberry Panic and Rose of Versailles. I second checking our Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Try Valkyrie Drve if you want hardcore ecchi yuri rape.
Yeah, I had to review that at the start of my XIV Days of Darkness reviewing challenge, and it damn sure had yuri rape in it. Same went with Rin: Daughter of Mnemosyne (links to my review of that series), but the difference was that Rin turned out to be a really good OVA and Valkyrie Drive wasn't that great.
Weirdly enough, I'm new to the yuri genre like you. Those two I suggested are the only ones I watched. For some reason, I watched more yaoi than yuri, but some reason, yaoi tend to be hardcore than yuri.
I have seen the trends in Yuri thanks to the video posted by Wraith
In the old days like the Utena recommendation, the yuri shows had themes of girls being princes and empowering themes. It was mainly for gals.
Now today, yuri is aimed towards both girls and guys, but we have more ecchi + those moe overloaded shows that play the normal, slice of life, romance ones. I like Riddle Story of Devil since it stood out to me because it had fighting with the assassins playing a cat and mouse game. It was exciting. I haven't seen anything like that.
Dream: Spice and Wolf's the next title I'm rewatching. Stay tuned.

Taka: My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo was probably Ep 22.

Dream: The one with zombies excavating for treasure? Think that one's the most out there of episodes in the series. Mine's probably the one involving Mugen busting a counterfeit coin ring while trying to get nookie from a ninja girl disguised as a prostitute.

Master Menos: Updates complete. As for a life update, I'm quitting my fast food job soon. Was good for my very first job, but things are getting FAR too chaotic for my tastes.

Dream: Far as job front goes on my end, still waiting on projects to start up with my freelance job. Beyond that, nothing new for other work in my search.

Dream: Just completed Spice and Wolf. Plan to work on a review for it sometime tomorrow. Too late to have any inhibition to get one done from my end.

Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.
Feb 11, 2020 2:11:38 GMT
Taka: What? That sounds so weird.
Feb 11, 2020 5:36:23 GMT
Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
