The anime adds more fan service to Rose (despite overexposure for Rose which leads to being a bad thing which I explore in the next section) such as her origin with Brad and how happy she was before her conflict with a man who took everything from her which led her down a quest of revenge.
Another character getting more spotlight than her video game compartment was Alisha. She had bigger involvement in season 1 and continues to get involved in season 2 and up to the end game. She never had conversations with Zavied or Lunarre. That was interesting to see. However, without spoilers, the anime doesn't go down the route where Alisha and her teacher, Maltran, has a conflict. There is no time for the anime to go over it, so it's okay for the anime to omit it. It wouldn't hurt her character but it wouldn't improve her character at the same time.
The anime takes its video game mechanics seriously. In the anime, the two girls have a hard time to armitize and Lailah advised against it for Sorey. Yet, earlier she pushed Rose to make a contract to help Sorey purify a dragon corpse which was a risky move. In the video game, she has the girls make a contract with Sorey and Armitize normally.
The epilogue was much better than the video game. At least, we get to see what happens to the gang after Sorey's deep sleep. While Edna and Zavied's conflict with Eizen was unresolved in the anime, I like that scenario better than how the video game portrayed as it was very pessimistic and forced without spoilers.
Despite showing Brad more than the video game, the anime's 2nd season focused too much on Rose and doesn't make much plot progress. It cost other characters in her relationship to have less focus and changing their fates compared to the video game. The video game isn't that better when it also rushed Dezel and kills him off to be replaced by Zavied. The anime falls into the same trap but suffers a bit more without fleshing Dezel and Lunarre's backstory which are significant for fleshing Rose, too. I don't know if the anime animates Dezel's eyes right. In the video game, there is a scene or two that describes Dezel's blindness.
Because of Rose and Alisha taking center stage, Sorey's character doesn't feel like he mature due to not having much of a role in the 2nd season. He hasn't had time to bond with the other characters to challenge and foster a change in his character.
The final fight in the final episode wasn't as spectacular. It wasn't as intense or high budget animation as seen in episode 0. It was short.
To summarize, it's okay that the anime adaptation doesn't have time to adapt everything in the video game and cut things out which lessens the workload and focus on the things the anime has covered on. Make those anime scenes better than the video game scenes. The anime adaptation has the potential to be better than the video game. The anime's 2nd season feels like it was mostly about Rose not Sorey. I don't mind if they do. Sorey or Rose aren't my favorite character but if they do shift character, they should balance character spotlights out. Alas, they fumbled in season 2 which messed up a lot of things due to pacing and over emphasis on Rose's character without considering Sorey or other characters. Furthermore, Rose's character is intertwined with Dezel and Lunarre but the anime had to make changes so we don't get more of those two characters' backstory.
Since Jgames wants me to score my reviews, I would give this anime a 7 or 6 out of 10. I do recommend the anime to video game fans despite the changes. It's not the best anime adaptation of a Tales game, but it's a big anime project for Tales so far. Most Tales games don't get a full anime series adaptation aside from Abyss.
When did I say I wanted you to score XD, I mean I remembered stating in Menos review that he is no longer doing rating like you, which is fine because you can get a feel of how the person felt about the show if his review is good. Granted I guess rating is feel more tangible and a quicker way to skim the reading. I mean whatever you review, you do you.
Might just give this serious a chance later just bc.
Wait, how did you notice I put your name in the review? I thought you don't play the video game. Darn it, well that goes my little joke about users on the site I wanted to hide in.
You can never hide mwuahahaha, also I play some of the tale games before, I mean granted now a days I only play pokemon on showdown. Also my name is Jgames, "games" , it be weird if I did not play video games XD. Granted the username was made when someone made fun of me and try to combined my name with gay, but just sounded like Jgames (which in context that person was a friend, an asshole, but everybody was one including me).
Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
