Welcome to The Laughing Salesman New anime review. There are no spoilers because this show doesn't have any significant plot points as it's very episodic and follows a 2 cases a week formula. I have no knowledge of the original anime nor the manga series.
The genre of this show is horror, psychological, and drama. There aren't much drama since audience members cannot sympathize with our victims of the salesman, Moguro Fukuzo. The horror part is pretty much from the salesman's looks and how he sometimes, stalks his clients and forces them into deals. Which leads to our bad part. From the beginning half, these clients accept Moguro's help on their own free will, and they break their deal due to their desires for more despite Moguro's warning. During the second half, Moguro insteads forces his clients into a deal. Sometimes, I don't get the "aesop lesson" from these cases. Since this is based on an old manga series, it has done pretty well to fit into our modern setting by adapting technology and recent cultural issues in Japan such as black companies and salaryman's social drinking events.
Another issue of the show is how series doesn't challenge Moguro. It paints him as an antagonist who is undefeated and that everyone succumbs to their desires. The ending of the show is very inconclusive and doesn't end with unifying the recent cases. It's just another 2 cases per episode for the finale.
I don't recommend the anime series as it doesn't really do anything memorable aside from Moguro's "boom" and creepy yet funny scenes. If you want to see a bit of culture, the show does offer a bit of insight in the busy society of modern Japan.
Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
