This movie is hard to get and since it's Aniplex, import is a bit pricey. I finally got a chance to watch the film. I love Persona. I started on 4 and did play 3 and 5. This is the only place to discuss the film in a review format. No worries about spoiler since if you play the game, you know what happens.
It has been a long time since I play the game (I only play FES), so I won't catch every difference or references.
This will be a short review.
Being a film, there are pro and cons. With an anime series, it gets more time to flesh out and develop the characters and be faithful to the source material, depending on your standards. I know some folks want a 100% faithful adaptation while others are okay with minor differences or big differences to a degree.
The big differences that the film did was pretty much focus on Aigis, Ryoji Mochizuki (Pharos), and Junpei with his interactions with Chidori which is a big plus because the game focuses through the protagonist's perspective. You don't get to see these characters by themselves. For Ryoji, he didn't get a lot of time in the game but in the film, he gets the spotlight. You see him helping the protagonist open up and try to make him not fear being attached to people after witnessing deaths of loved ones. While Aigis also gets interactions, she also serves a bit of comedic relief along with Ryoji as the film does get into heavy, tense dramatic scenes.
The cons of the film is that there is a lot of "filler" stuff (as they rush through events) and I wish they did more for hang outs of the cast. They had a good chance during the school trip. All we got was the hot spring scene which was a playable scene in the video game. Of course, they put that. Persona loves to milk anime tropes. There was a scene I don't think it was in the video game, a scene between Mitsuru and Chidori where Chidori tries to help Mitsuru as they have gone through the same conflict, losing a father. I don't think the social links of Persona 3 were as strong as they felt more like a side quest and they don't feel attached to the story because they don't play a huge role. In the film, they just serve as cameos. It depends on you if you like them or not in the video game.
Oh yes, some of the cast like Akihiko and Ken were using their non evolved Personas when in the game, they had evolved their Personas. That was a weird thing.
Overall, this is a must see for Persona 3 fans. If you support them, they might do more for this game. Right now, Persona 5 is gaining a lot of hype and money for the company which helps pull in Persona games except 2.
Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
