I thought I created the thread for the past OVA news. I guess not. The franchise has been getting new OVAs over the years.
This is an informal thread just to keep tabs on the news.

Taka Isn't that basically the same as the second season though? Second season was an 8 episode OVA series that was announced beforehand as well. I wonder actually why they have gone OVA only since season 1.
Taka Season 2 is in fact purely OVA episodes, just like season 3. The odd thing is that season 1 is a 24 episode season that aired on tv, while every subsequent season is an OVA. Yes those OVAs are regular episodes around 24-25 minutes in length, the standard as they're including the opening and ending theme every episode. I think censorship shouldn't be the issue to be honest. I've seen half the second season and it contains less content that even can be censored than any horror show i've seen. There's the occasional censorship of scenes with sexual innuendos or the once or twice that i can remember that nudity was a thing, but i do honestly not remember any reason as to why they would go the OVA route for that as it's censored anyways. Maybe they have an issue with revenue?
Actually never mind nudity is probably the reason.
Yeah, I was thinking of graphic violence when talking of censorship since I don't know if the LNs were violent or not. I never thought there was nudity in Strike the Blood. It look like a tame harem series compared to the likes of Testament of Sister Devil, Hybrid x Heart, High School DxD

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.
