In this thread I gon be posting some speed feats which nearly(if not all) all rankers/high-rankers should scale to(cuz they were performed by regulars) which also kinda served as a benchmark for almost all the battle profiles i've created. Speed feats such as baam, endorsi(regulars) dodging, outrunning explosions, Lightning speed feats etc...This is to avoid silly debates such as a really powerful high-ranker(say yuri jahad) not even being lightning speed despite some weak & slow ass regulars already attaining such level of speed pre-timeskip. If there's any confusion on the speed of rankers/high-rankers i'd refer them here.
1. BAAM(a regular) OUTRUNNING AN EXPLOSION: In this scene some regulars we having a tournament which involved some crazy ball that explodes if held for too long. While his friend was in danger of being turned to dust by the exploding ball, baam ran, grabbed her and evaded the area. All this happened while the ball was still exploding:
3. THE KHUN FAMILY'S LIGHTNING (LIGHTNING SPEED FEAT): Most Regulars(not all) from the khun family can manipulate/create electricity & lightning at will. Khun ran is a character from the series whom we've seen use lightning the most and basically some regulars have managed to react or dodge some of his lightning attacks(baam, anak jahad, horyang etc..) even since pre time-skip:
Now one might say but there's no proof that this lightning is as fast a natural lightning. Actually there are proofs of that. Firstly, The author made mention of elements in the tower being similar to their natural counterparts but unfortunately I can't find the blog post where he mentioned it as its been really long so i'm just gonna have to prove it myself that the khun family lightning is just as fast or is similar to natural lightning. Secondly, here's ran creating actual lightning storm clouds which contains lightning in it:
The Khun family leader(Eduan) has also once provided electricity by creating lightning generating storm clouds over the entire capital. I believe scientifically, storm clouds generates lightning right? I'm not really versed in how that stuff works but at least I've seen this been used a proof of real lightning for some other series like what nami does with her weather egg temp stuff, generating clouds and summoning lightning and people accept it. So yeah this is proof no?
Then if u're still not satisfied with that here's another regular from the khun family creating/summoning a massive lightning storm from the sky. That same lightning is what she uses to attack:
I believe this is enough proof that the Khun family lightning is close to natural and should be just as fast. Regulars have reacted to and dodged their lightning since pre time-skip meaning all the rankers & highrankers would easily scale to this and higher.
So in conclusion, Rankers/High rankers scale higher than much weaker characters than can dodge & outrun explosions, and they are also massively faster than lightning timers.
Now those aren't all the speed feats in the verse, there are still some relativistic and light speed feats(from urek) but they don't scale to the average rankers or highrankers because he is much above them. But these feat I posted were all performed by regulars(who are much weaker & slower than rankers) which makes the scaling valid.
Please this thread is open to suggestions, additions, subtractions etc.. I need to make sure I got this right especially the lightning part if anyone thinks the khun family lightning isn't as fast pls let me know why. Or if u think I got the scaling wrong please holla at me. Even if ur a nonTOG reader it would be nice to hear ur opinion.
El_Directo , good job putting together this thread. It will help a lot with the speed scaling used in your other ToG threads. When claiming a lightning timing feat, cloud to ground lightning is acceptable in my book as long the following holds true:
1) A character must dodge, react, counter, etc... the cloud to ground lightning bolt. Its best if this is in the form of an actually lightning bolt and not an ability like a lightning spear, arrow, sword, etc... because then you can argue its not real lightning.
2) There aren't numerous counter feats of character who have dodged said lightning being hit by something far slower. An example would be a character getting hit by bullets after dodging one of those lightning attacks. That would certainly ruin the lightning speed feat as no real lightning timer would ever get hit by bullets. Of course there are outliers so you'd need numerous counter feats like that to kill the lightning speed thing.
3) The cloud is in the sky. You can't really call something cloud to ground lightning if the cloud is sitting in someone's hand (like Ran's feat). The Great Spear of Dawn is a much better feat. It's cloud to ground, the attack it actually lightning bolts and the cloud is in the sky. That would definitely be a lightning timer feat for the character who blocked that attack. At least in my book.
Be careful though. If there are any statements saying that Shinsoo is not natural (i,e. its magic, mana, etc...) then that will really hurt the lightning timer claims. That was one of the big problem's people had with Fairy Tail's lightning speed claims. IIRC its stated that Magical Particles were not a naturally occurring substance, like magical particles aren't creating the lightning seen in nature. Stuff like that makes it really hard to claim that a character's attack is really lightning speed when its stated that they aren't using a natural thing.
Zero Ah, i've been very busy and couldn't find the time to reply properly. Firstly, Thanks for sharing ur opinion. I really appreciate. Now,
There aren't numerous counter feats of character who have dodged said lightning being hit by something far slower. Yeah I agree with u on that. There aren't any counter feats as far as i can remember, heck regulars have been treating bullets speed like fodder since BOS, Namely khun, baam & rak: Khun's feat:
So as far as I can remember, there haven't been any anti-feats.
The cloud is in the sky. You can't really call something cloud to ground lightning if the cloud is sitting in someone's hand (like Ran's feat). The Great Spear of Dawn is a much better feat. Now about the cloud thingy. The major reason i brought it up is cuz nami uses a similar stuff to create lightning and people have accepted her lightning as real lightning. I don't know the science behind how cloud creates lightning and stuff but I just thought that since ran is doing a similar thing, this particular lightning would/should be close to natural lightning no?
Dream: Looks like a remake of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni will be airing in July. The original seiyuu from the 2000s series will reprise their roles for the remake and judging from the animation, looks like it will have more polish to it compared...
