Hey Vicers Ok the subject of being a 100 tonner was brought up in a thread I was contributing in not too long ago. Whether or not characters were 100 tonners was asked, and only striking feats (as opposed to lifting feats) were used to make this person/people/character(s) 100 tonners. On that subject I thought "do striking feats make you a 100 tonner." This is what I think about it. The first time I had really heard of the 100 tonner group was marvel comics (when they did the strength class thing) which was literally 100% lifting strength. The second time was on my old friend comicvine, which also used it as a lifting type feat. On animevice, which I obviously commonly use, atleast 70% of the class 100 feats are striking feats from what I've seen. To be a 100 tonner, you must be able to lift 100 tons (according to my prior experiences) so to me this wasnt adding up - Theres no way some of these characters can do that just because of a striking feat(is what i was thinking). Well some past studying that happened to be useful to me came into play. If you take a man, boxer, marital artist, some kind of fighter, they can very commonly dish out more pounds of pressure then they can lift. For example, an elite boxer may be able to punch with the force of 600-1000 lbs, but ain't no way he's gonna be able to lift that (on average). I think this is also the case with the characters in which we love to watch, read, and analyze. I think at least with this, we should clarify as "100 tonner striker" or "100 tonner lifter".
Note: it seems kinda obvious that if someone can strike with say, 100,000 tons of pressure, it would be fair to make them a 100 tonner even if they aren stated to be so.
Class 100 is a term coined by Marvel. The criteria established by Marvel was that said character could press in full or in excess of 100 tons under optimal conditions. To strike with 100 tons of force is a lower caliber of strength overall than lifting.
Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.

Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.

Taka: Great job, Dream! I should do some reviews, too.

Dream: Looks like MAL's currently down due to the site getting hit by a major denial-of-service attack, just as a heads up.

Taka: I added 2 polls tonight. Also, I wonder why MAL was down. Crunchyroll also had it, too.
Feb 20, 2020 4:05:24 GMT
Dream: Not sure about Crunchyroll. For MAL, the DoS attacks may have been retaliation by those who dabbled into manipulating the site's scoring system for certain anime titles. The admin on MAL announced they would be overhauling the system to prevent said...
