The following calc is based around kenpachi's feat.
Lets begin with kenpachi's meteor cutting feat, but to do this we need the size of seireitei. When it comes to finding the size there are two methods I can think of: 1. Pixel scaling 2. Using given statements with reasonable assumptions.
I don't do pixel scaling, but I have seen a couple of them which give the size to be around 20 - 135 km. So I'll be doing a calc based of this diagram:
This was a diagram given early on in the series, basically it compares seireitei (labelled tororei) with rukongai (labelled ryuutamashiikai), straight away you can see that there is no clear way to get a size for seireitei, but we know that rukongai has 320 districts within it: 80 to the east; 80 to the west; 80 to the north; 80 to the south (so far only around 8 districts have been mentioned with their names, 1 of which contains a mountain).
=> Total area of rukongai = 320,000 km^2 => the shape without the white circle is an annulus => formula for the area of an annulus = pi*(R^2 - r^2), R is the red+blue line and r is the blue line, form eyeballing R=~2r => Substitute the above into the equation => pi*(4r^2 - r^2) = 320 000 => 3r^2 = 101,859.1636 km^2 => r = 184 km
- The other statement about it taking 10 days to walk around 1/4 of the circumference of seireitei supports this - i.imgur.com/D12Qtij.jpg Here we have hitsugaya telling kira to stay away at least 12 km (三里 (three ri)), 1 ri being ~ 4km www.convert-me.com/en/convert/length/jri.html , if seireitei was so small then hitsugaya is basically telling kira to actually get out of the city entirely, but this makes no sense since that would leave everyone else in the city in danger, so basically there must not have been that many people in a 24km circle around hitsu. - Also the fade to black movie which kubo was involved in gives us an actual diameter (it said seireitei is 400 spirit miles long, 1 spirit mile is 2.4 miles), but this movie was ultimately non-canon. - Pixel scaling is unreliable, we can already see this from the range of values that can be derived from it.
Now using the above radius for seireitei it's possible to calc kepachi's feat:
From eyeballing the meteor is roughly a 1/4 of the diameter of seireitei, therefore meteor diameter = 92 km => radius = 46 km
- Assuming a roughly spherical volume for the meteor => volume = 4/3*pi*r^3 = 4.08 x 10^14 m^3
- Assuming the meteor is made of stone => density of stone = 2700 kg/m^3 => density = mass/volume => mass = density*volume => mass = 1.1 x 10^18 kg
- From visuals the meteor is on fire, therefore using the low end ablation speed the meteor must at least be moving at 2 km/s => 2000 m/s - Therefore the kinetic energy of the meteor can be solved using : kinetic energy = 0.5*mass*speed^2 => 2.2 x 10^24 J
Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.

Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.

Taka: Great job, Dream! I should do some reviews, too.

Dream: Looks like MAL's currently down due to the site getting hit by a major denial-of-service attack, just as a heads up.

Taka: I added 2 polls tonight. Also, I wonder why MAL was down. Crunchyroll also had it, too.

Dream: Not sure about Crunchyroll. For MAL, the DoS attacks may have been retaliation by those who dabbled into manipulating the site's scoring system for certain anime titles. The admin on MAL announced they would be overhauling the system to prevent said...
