Welcome to the Beautiful Bones: Sakurako's Investigation review. There are no spoilers in this review. I'm here to help out to determine whether this show is for your preferences.
In the Fall 2015 season, Beautiful Bones is one of the lesser known shows. It doesn't stand out as much. Its looks are deceiving. When I read the premise and watch the trailer, I thought this was a mystery show. It follows that route a bit in the first few episodes. It was not significantly a mystery or a crime drama show at all. Rather, it's a story about those who are trapped in the past. The anime adaptation is based on a series of novels. I only have volume 1 cover in Anime Vice Wikia. I couldn't find the other volumes to showcase this.
(will post a pic of the main characters. I don't have good profile shots which I normally upload in the Wikia)
The story centers around high school student Shotaro Tatewaki and the beautiful Sakurako Kujo, who loves beautiful bones. Due to the nature of her interests, the two of them are involved in all kinds of incidents involving bones. Via Crunchyroll
Where to watch legally?

Depends on your preferences, the show is more character driven than story driven as the plot of the entire series is fragmented and separated by case. With each case, it builds on our main cast.
Characters - While the main cast, Sakurako and Shōtarō, get a lot of fleshing out, the support characters don't get much spotlight aside from the police officer, Hiroki Utsumi, and science teacher, Itsuki Isozaki. However, it's limited. It's a fairly likable cast. Sakurako is the most outstanding character of them all due to her quirks and story.
Being a mystery show with its cases involving murder and death, the gore in this series quite tame. Don't worry, there is nothing too gross or violent with show for those who want to avoid those things.
Ep 10 feels like the series finale. Ep 11 was a flashback arc. The way the series ended without defeating its antagonist is a bit inconclusive. While it is unique that the show hasn't follow traditional route where stories normally reach a resolution upon solving the conflict, it's a bit of cliffhanger. With a 2nd season's fate unknown, it could hurt the show a bit.
Predictable elements - if you are the type of person who seen a lot of mystery and crime type of shows. The conclusions and sources of problem might be predictable for you.
As for the antagonist introduced late in the series, his connection
with the cases explored prior felt a bit far fetched.
Overall, Beautiful Bones is an enjoyable series for those who enjoy mystery. Certainly, it's memorable but a bit underwhelming due to how the series ended. We don't know if a second season will come about. It leaves fans hanging.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this review is helpful. Please let me know what you like or didn't like about the show.
Old Man Dream: ...later titles in the Macross franchise can finally come stateside with all involved parties finally coming to a truce over how to handle things with the Macross trademark and all later anime in the franchise associated with it.

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
