So I was surfing the internet for stuff and I found this interesting article about what FTL movement looks like. The article basically said objects moving FTL will give off a blue or purple glow. Kind of like this.
"Cherenkov radiation, also known as Vavilov–Cherenkov radiation, is electromagnetic radiation emitted when a charged particle (such as an electron) passes through a dielectric medium at a speed greater than the phase velocity of light in that medium." - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherenkov_radiation
Through different mediums, the speed of light varies, or, more accurately, it's not that light is actually losing its speed, it's just taking it longer to get through that medium because it's bumping into more atoms, think a car going at 80 km/h through a street, but that street is filled with giant rubber balls (and assuming that the car loses no speed), so of course it'll take a longer time to cross that road than it normally would.
For example, in water, light "slows down" to 75% its speed, so it's possible for an accelerated particle to bypass that speed when in water, and when it does, it emits Cherenkov radiation (which I'm not even sure if it's really purple).
So you see, that does not apply to this context, just a visual effect.
Eva01, yeah I'm not really a physics person. I was mostly looking for something else on quora when I found it and got curious. The purple and blue made me think of that battle which made me think that something might be up.
Iirc a similar cone appeared when Gabramelek landed a hit on Shi-Hoon with the big bang punch albeit it was behind Shi-Hoon, so i think this was rather to show they were on equal footing in terms of power rather than speed. Also doesn't help Shi-Hoon had trouble with a lightning timer before he entered Gabramelek's dimension, so no it's not about their speed i'd say.
Rebeloutlaw Eh prior to transcending once more i'd put Shi-Hoon at MHS but below lightning timing, given that he could notice Bermut with the electric powers approaching but he couldn't react to it. But given how he also still could notice Gabramelek's attacks but not react to them in kinda the same way, i'd put Gabramelek and Shi-Hoon around lightning timing. That's saying it conservatively.
Oh also i dug up the scans which portray that thing for power.
HungryWorld, I would say a bit more than lightning cause transcending seemed to such a big thing that it should leave all Pluto's in the dust. Cause we need to count the fact Shi-Hoon gets stronger while fighting.

Well he absolutely transcended in power, however in terms of speed nobody really showed anything faster than pluto Daeuroth with his lightning. Gabramelek should logically be either faster than Daeuroth and/or a lot stronger, the latter which was certainly shown. But other than that the fact Shi-Hoon still could keep track of Gabramelek in a very similar way to Bermut with Daeuroth's flesh suggests they'd be around the same level of speed.
Also it's just up to anyone where they place that lightning speed, could as well be MHS+.
Rebeloutlaw We don't know no, but i doubt it'd boost his stats to FTL. Not even Beelzebub with that thing got such a huge boost, albeit Beelzebub didn't use the full power iirc. And yeah Shi-Hoon blitzed him afterwards, but i doubt it still going that high up. Guess you could argue for MHS+ then, although we gotta be careful not to scale in circles. Since: Pre-boost Shi-Hoon < Gabramelek Boost Shi-Hoon = Gabramelek Mephisto >= Gabramelek Boost Shi-Hoon > Mephisto
Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.

Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
Feb 16, 2020 20:57:26 GMT
Taka: Great job, Dream! I should do some reviews, too.
Feb 17, 2020 5:24:39 GMT
Dream: Looks like MAL's currently down due to the site getting hit by a major denial-of-service attack, just as a heads up.
Feb 18, 2020 17:55:23 GMT
Taka: I added 2 polls tonight. Also, I wonder why MAL was down. Crunchyroll also had it, too.
Feb 20, 2020 4:05:24 GMT
Dream: Not sure about Crunchyroll. For MAL, the DoS attacks may have been retaliation by those who dabbled into manipulating the site's scoring system for certain anime titles. The admin on MAL announced they would be overhauling the system to prevent said...

Dream: ...manipulation last week.
