Note: Before you say yes or no make sure to read the whole thing. It isn't that long anyway. Also even if Laxus's lightning is real or not it says nothing for anyone else in FT. Bluenote's blackhole isn't real because it doesn't act like one and Sting's element isn't Light but White as in Holy, on top of that dragon's names are know to reference their powers and Sting's dragon is named Weisslogia(as in white).
This question was sparked by not just the lightspeed reaction feat thread for magi but also several threads that brought a new approach to such debates with logic every sensible person should be able to agree with because this logic is used in real world science as well. That logic is examining something not by how it was created but by its properties. This logic is even used for something as basic as labeling something as "matter", to do so scientists examine its properties. This thread shall examine the properties of Laxus's lightning.
Laxus's lightning has shown the properties of natural lightning.
Laxus's lightning has been conducted and redirected by metal that was used as a lightning rod(debunked)
Laxus has used lightning produced from clouds as most know as his cloud to ground lightning feat during the Tenrou Island Arc.
Khorne, Yeah i am going to mark the first property as debunked.
Though about the whole cloud thing which I assume if a reference to the third scan. Logically that lightning would have come from a cloud because there's no where else it could have came and logically the use of cloud lightning would be convenient because it's faster than what he shoots. If he uses the same stuff he shoots out of his hand what was the point of calling down a bolt of lightning rather then just blasting from his body. Note that third one was he destroyed a barrage of bullets Wahl fired at him. That lightning arcs from something out of the panel as well, since the panel didn't get much of the sky there's nothing to suggest clouds weren't there.
While we're on this topic I found something else interesting that I think we all may have overlooked.
Where did this lightning come from, the least one could say is his Thunder Palace being this feat was during when he was going to wipe out Magnolia with the Thunder Palace(his collection of lacrima.)
True but for it to be natural lightning it needs to behave like natural lightning. Meaning it needs to be cloud to cloud (not seen yet) or cloud to ground (shaky but seen a few times)
We have seen some scans of CG lightning however the very speed of natural lightning is possible because of the electrons pathway and concentration. Laxus manipulates his lightning so it's speed will be drastically slower than natural lightening.
Also while a lot of people won't agree the viewers can clearly see his lightening as it travels. If it was natural it would be quick arks.
Laxus doesn't shoot lightening he shoots electricity.
Oh..wow..you'd think that first scan lays ground for an argument of Laxus's lightning being real but it actually kills any chance of it being so :/
That's not how lightning rods work at all, has the writer not attended middle school? Lightning rods don't attract lightning in the conventional sense like how a magnet attracts iron. When lightning is about to strike from the clouds, it looks for the path with the least resistance to the ground, as in, an easy path to a conductor as it is a path with little resistance to the ground, which is why lightning rods are made of metal (conductor) and are placed on top of buildings (closer to the lightning's path).
If a lightning rod isn't near a lightning's path, it will not be struck by it at all, again, it's not like how ferromagnetic materials react to magnets. That lightning straight up veered at 90 degrees as it was travelling into a rod that's about 10 metres away when there was a guy sitting directly in front of it (heck, there's not even a metre between them). Waaaaaay too unrealistic. There's no way that magical lightning is anything like natural lightning.

Khorne, if you're refering to his CG Lightning won't that mean the viewers are just that fast. I understand the stuff he shoots would be slower but if I read your post right than you also said his CG Lightning would be slower can you explain what you mean?
Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.
Feb 11, 2020 5:36:23 GMT
Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)
Feb 15, 2020 4:17:13 GMT
Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
Feb 16, 2020 20:57:26 GMT
Taka: Great job, Dream! I should do some reviews, too.
Feb 17, 2020 5:24:39 GMT
Dream: Looks like MAL's currently down due to the site getting hit by a major denial-of-service attack, just as a heads up.
Feb 18, 2020 17:55:23 GMT
Taka: I added 2 polls tonight. Also, I wonder why MAL was down. Crunchyroll also had it, too.
Feb 20, 2020 4:05:24 GMT
Dream: Not sure about Crunchyroll. For MAL, the DoS attacks may have been retaliation by those who dabbled into manipulating the site's scoring system for certain anime titles. The admin on MAL announced they would be overhauling the system to prevent said...
