Note: This review is part of the "Before Redemption" reviewing series. This is for Day I and contains mild spoilers.
Manyuu Hikenchou is a 12 episode action/ecchi series where a samurai that was entrusted with a scroll that teaches the secret of breast manipulation embarks on a quest for a technique that returns forcefully flattened breasts to their former glory and to have control over said powers. However, there are rivals that are either after the secret scroll, her life or even her breasts. And being in a world where breast size determines a human 's worth doesn't support her case either.
Storyline The story started off interesting, but as episodes gradually went by, it turned really dumb and hollow fast. The world building did a nice job of catering to the breast gimmick alongside the many side-quests that were embarked by Chifusa and Kaede throughout the show up to where they reach the main quest after most of the show went by. The end result turned out to not only feel rushed, but it was rather unsatisfactory in all aspects.
Characters Chifusa happens to be the only good overall personality out of the cast, but some of the other characters like Kagefusa, Ouka and shockingly, Kaede had good backstories and unlike Kaede, whom was one of the the one-note perverts of the series, the other two had decent personalities. The rest of the characters were very forgettable and don't even deserve a name drop, even for crooks, troublesome kids and one-note perverts looking to drink them some milk.
Pros and Cons Most of the art style and animation was decent and there were many good moments for those that do love ecchi series (goes double for those that are also into cow udders). Speaking of which, most of the breast sizes weren't too overwhelming either and those who like the flat screens may find a silver lining with some of the gals' sweater puppies being taken away if the demeanment of flat chests didn't drive them away first. Some of the show's humor turned out to be good as well for those that are into some crass stuff.
This wasn't an easy show to power through at all thanks to some of the more lurid and non-consensual fanservice about, including a disgusting look at a few parts of Chifusa and Kaede's childhood and two shocking breastfeeding scenes that weren't pleasant to look at one bit. In fact, the entire show happens to be a bunch of heavy fanservice and doesn't offer much else. The musical scores weren't so good either in all aspects, especially for the grating ending theme.
Final Verdict Being Serious, this is a 2/10 for me. While the premise was interesting, it did not deliver much of anything meaningful at all aside of like, two backstories and a decent main character. Another example of a show where displaying a good pair of cow udders can only get it so far.
Current Situation: I wanted another excuse to use Enterprise as an avatar again.
Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
