Note: This review contains very mild spoilers. This review is also in honor of Halloween 2016 as of this review's release.
Blood: The Last Vampire is a horror/action movie about an assassin focused on slaying the shape-shifting monsters that feast on human blood and flesh, the Teropterids. She gets sent to a U.S. army base in 1960's Japan to weed out any suspicious teropterids about.
Storyline The tale is very straightforward and is very nice in execution for the mystery concept for Saya and the teropterids. The way the setting and the concept of the teropterids (alongside their gruesome transformations) is presented is also a plus to the movie, but other than that, the storyline falls only a tad short due to the length of time.
Characters The only major character of note happen to be Saya and she only gets a tad of development. However, it does maintain her air of mystery in the movie aside of being a near-silent protagonist. The other side characters are just about for either added suspense or turn out to be teropterids, whom are rather effective at being terrifying monsters. That only made them more intriguing alongside Saya herself.
Pros and Cons The mood to the movie and the animation is very well done throughout the movie and the art style happens to be very good, but at the same time, it may put off some in the case of the humans. Both the art style and animation have managed to age pretty well considering the movie's age. For the action and gore lovers, this should satiate you since there's an ample amount of fighting on Saya's part. I also love the mix of Japanese and English language here. Not only that said mixture didn't clash at all, it made things consistent for the characters involved in all parties involved.
However, for the ones that aren't into blood, gore or the disturbing appearance of the teropterids, they will have to stay away from this movie (and should've bailed upon hearing the name of this film). While the air of mystery did work in the case of a big thing about Saya being revealed, some may also feel underwhelmed about it in the case that the viewer was mainly watching for the story instead of the action.
Final Verdict After some careful dissecting, this gets an 8/10 here. It's something very nice for those that are into vampire-themed movies or just want to see blood take the skies. As long as you're not fully invested into the storyline, then you should have a fun time too.
Current Situation: I wanted another excuse to use Enterprise as an avatar again.
Old Man Dream: ...later titles in the Macross franchise can finally come stateside with all involved parties finally coming to a truce over how to handle things with the Macross trademark and all later anime in the franchise associated with it.

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
