Sound! Euphonium Season Two continues right where season one left off and not only takes on the road to the national competition, but also to the bottom of the incident involving the past and current third years alongside some new troubles involving Kumiko and those around her.
Storyline The start of the second season had a nice continuous right after the last event of season one, despite it being a long start. However, despite covering the missing patches from the fiasco from that previous year in the story, alongside a settlement between the feelings of some characters, some new events and some character development feel too much like loafing instead of the things involving Noboru and Asuka. The repeat performances only happen a few times in the show when it came to the concerts, but the one skipping instance for them was used well. The end result felt nice, but the epilogue felt like it dragged it's feet, despite it being rather heartfelt.
Characters This time around, while everyone still feels very real and thete wasn't anyone that I really loathed, there are some changes to many characters. This time around, Noboru and Asuka end up feeling like they were the best characters of the show due to the added development on top of their personalities. Kumiko falls into the high neutral territory, despite her character being expanded nicely on the most part. Because of some rather shallow moments overpowering her more better moments, Reina falls into the neutral zone alongside the remaining characters for the show, including Shuichi, whom got the short end for the development area and Mamiko for her overall character.
Pros and Cons The art style and animation retain the fluid and elegant quality that it has from the last season and the music is still on top of it's game overall. The ending theme turned out to be the best of the two main themes even though there wasn't anything too special about the opener other than the change from monochrome to color in later episodes. The dramatic and humorous elements end up working well on the most part throughout the tale. For those that did like the pseudo-yuri events, there are some more about here, especially between two main characters.
Those that didn't like the amped pseudo-yuri will have to be wary there. For one of the bigger cons, I'll have to go into only a tad of novel territory here. It was noticed that most of the actual romantic elements were barred from being adapted in order to put more emphasis on the friendship between two main characters and causing the development of one character to not only be mostly removed, but to also have most of their moments feel forced and unrequited. That made some scenes in this season feel rather trite as well. The slow pacing may put off some people in some areas between episodes, despite one of them being literally an hour long.
Final Verdict I feel like it did feel like a great run this time around, but some loafing did bog it down a tad despite the rest of the show being a great school drama. For that, it obtains a 8/10 while I still fully recommend it for those that loved the first season to bits.
Current Situation: I wanted another excuse to use Enterprise as an avatar again.
Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
