Japanese: (バガボンド Bagabondo) Mangaka: Takehiko Inoue Publishers: Kodansha (JP), Viz Media (NA), Madman Entertainment (AUS) Magazine: Weekly Morning Demographic: Seinen Genre/Theme: Chanbara, Historical, Adventure, Psychological, Martial Arts Read Online: None (I'll put Viz Media's profile in case some day)
Plot: Shinmen Takezo is destined to become the legendary sword-saint, Miyamoto Musashi--perhaps the most renowned samurai of all time. For now, Takezo is a cold-hearted killer, who will take on anyone in mortal combat to make a name for himself. This is the journey of a wild young brute who strives to reach enlightenment by way of the sword--fighting on the edge of death.
Started reading this manga this month after I found something that was like Kingdom and Berserk since I'm beginning to find historical fictional works my cup of tea
I'm somewhat past Ch. 244
to summarize the past 244 chapters is going to be hard. I won't go into excruciating details
The manga is violent but not too over the top like Berserk and Wolfsmund. It's like Kingdom's level. There is nudity and sex so far in my 244 chapter run but no rape compared to Vinland Saga, Berserk, and Kingdom. Just to state that since everyone has different levels of sensitivity towards sex
Takezo or Musashi's character development as well his physical appearances is well done. You can see the art style progress as he ages. The evolution is quite subtle especially as he trains and matures into a swordsman, finding his hold due to his goal of becoming the most invincible samurai has complications and consequences on him and his family and friends
I think that's a good start for my comment.
I drop on by and comment on chapters I read. I label my comments.
