I only watch the anime. If you tolerate the ecchi (it's sort of on Fairy Tail's level), you will be fine on that aspect with the foodgasms. The story is pretty linear, follows a talented young guy named Soma who goes to school for top chefs. I think the series is more character driven as it spotlights Soma and his classmates' experiences through school. It's a heavy cast. You might lose track of names. I'm not at remembering names.
I can't think of any other potential turn-offs besides the ecchi part. The pacing of the show (while I don't know about the manga) it's pretty quick.
Taka, I should be able to tolerate the ecchi, as, while I find it so uneeded and useless at many times, I toldrate Fairy Tail's and continue to follow the story, simply to see how it ends. I'll check it out some time soon. Thanks for your input!
