I thought I talked about this. This is one of the weirdest things. Not sure if happens to the other houses. It's a good idea to make a note of it. People disappear from your House. This character, Lorenz, left and became an enemy. I was given a decision to kill or recruit him compared to the other classmates whom I never recruited. Of course there were some that never gave the decision to spare their life and recruit them
I think it was during the Church route.
Oh I had some issues with the Church route. I expected all houses after the time skip to show us at least the house leaders. However, the Church route only mentions Claude in a letter and Dimitri in the narration. Though, we do see Dimitri. The scene was confusing. I think it was an illusion or ghost?
Later on, I think it was a ghost because the narration and game made a mention of how Claude and Dimitri died in a battle against Edelgarde. Kind of wished we had a cutscene or an anime cutscene
Another issue of the game - it's a ingame joke of how the protagonist has a blank stare or they don't look like they know anything. Some of these choices are just stupid and serve to make us stupid. I didn't screenshot. I pressed A by accident. There were 2 choices that were literally stupid
I should have post in the earlier post after not sure what to do after finishing Wyvern class. I did aspired to make my protagonist a wyvern lord. I already finished mastering it. I did enjoyed it but I wanted to check out other classes. I think I like Mortal Savant which suited me, a mix of might and magic. My protagonist did it but Petra for some reason couldn't passed.
I thought Paralogues were only special for the items and I guess bonus conversation as information you can find on world building. Games like Dark Soul and Breath of the Wild you can only learn about the world by hunting and reading stuff in the environment rather than the stsory. I was surprised to see enemies from the other Houses. I was taking these things as training sessions and got my units killed when the difficulty spiked when a surprise boss came unannounced midway in the mission
Ok I'm done catching up. It took me a while. I didn't want to upload the spoiler videos on Twitter. Everything was on FAcebook. I found out you can download Facebook video files. I convert them into Youtube videos
This is the Church route
Mysterious Knight - we meet him twice: in a fort where he tried to escape and then finally one last time with another boss character
We met Hubert again who can use bolting and meteor. Why can't my Hubert do it but the enemy Hubert can? It was a tougher map than Edelgard's map because it was bigger and we had the Death Knight and Hubert as bosses. I had my Ingrid injure the Death Knight with a Brave Lance and KnightKeeler before using my protagonist to deliver the fatal blow. I move all my mages and calvary unit not Shamir or Petra who had low res. I had my character take down Hubert
We storm the empire to fight a former friend
Met a familiar face who was bent on avenging their master. I let them died. They were able to fend off a monster by themselves without taking damage. However, when we reached the platform where the boss was, the three mages all ganged up on the unit, killing them.
I felt this map was unusually easy. There wasn't much reinforcements
I did feel sad when not given the chance to recruit her. She was my best unit. While she had done questionable things and indirect consequences, she was my best unit. She was a bit crazy just like Rhea
It was underwhelming compared to the previous chapters that had a better, fleshed out villain and a bittersweet tragedy. If this was the Church route, I'm not sure why that one person died when it implied one route was about this one person and the other about this one person so the heroine of the route should have been alive. Pretty much every political leader died in this route.
Oh yeah, one issue I had was how the story kept death flagging things that it became really predictable
Finally, here's the end. I was surprised I had only 4 couples. I had presume marriage was lottery. Seems they need a lot of hidden points. I don't see Fire Emblem as a romance game. The support system, marriages and epilogues are more like fan service.
I like the characters in Black Eagles but I don't see them in a romantic manner or really see them marrying each other for real.
Bernadetta and Ferdinand came close. Bernadetta strikes me as a person who likes to stay home and paint, write books, and raise carnivorous plants.
Ingrid and Dorothea had some chemistry as well.
I was really surprised that Sylvain never married anyone despite being the flirting womanizer.
I let my little sister pick out someone whom my character married.
I realize I should have done more quests and save up Renown points. There are the four statues and then this feature only accessible in New Game Plus. Things are so much easier in New Game Plus, buying abilities that way you can try something new instead of rebuilding from scratch on something you have done.
The oddities of recruiting people. You can spend Renown to get support levels to recruit people early. Only the supports you did from the past save file. I recruited Mercedes in Chapter 3 via Renown. Somehow, Leonie joined my party when I never had recruited her in the last save file. My stats were even high at all. Of course, there were others I recruited easily that didn't want to join such as Annette
The earliest I could recruit any faculty member was Shamsir in the chapter where Flayn gets kidnapped. It was odd seeing the faculty member so earlier. I realize they change the level to adjust to your level - so it was weird seeing a high class unit at a very low level
Dimitri loses his sanity and kills soldiers with his bare hands. He blames Edelgard for everything. Only in Blue Lions, a dagger is mentioned, Dimitri and Edelgard are step siblings in a sense
Felt odd we get a cutscene of an Imperial soldier whom I recognize from Black Eagles. He had a minor role in Silver Snow. Now I know Caspar's relationship because this NPC talked to him during the Silver Snow route
I made a choice to not abandon my save file for Crimson Flower. Albeit, it is efficient to use my New Game Plus route to do the 2nd route in Black Eagles. I didn't know New Game Plus existed and had plenty of benefits. I was prepared to redo everything.
Since the save file was past part 1 and sank so much hours, I wanted to see what was the support conversations so it can logged in that. I won't 100% clear the game because there are way too many supports.
the paralogue for Bernadetta and Petra - I believe only exists after part 1.
I like the Armor Lord better since it's more red which suits the motif better. The final armor could have been more black to suit Edelgard's chuni personality since she was quite embarrassed with the Black Eagle Strike Force
Tried to make everyone a flyer. Shamsir - it suits her better than she's more of a guerrila tactics given she has less crits than Bernadetta. She can't dodge as well.
It's odd because in Silver Snow, it's revealed Edelgard and Hubert know the uncle is evil and tied to the forces whose Monica killed Jeralt. Edelgard is indirectly responsible for the death of Jeralt.
Next chapter wasn't about dealing with the third party, rather a new character I have not seen before, Cornelia. I had forgotten if her name is mentioned in the dialogues during free time/explore at the monastery pre time skip or post time skip
She looks like Myne from Rising of the Shield Hero
This one will be brief since I was losing steam. I have a lot of stuff to share but I instead to trim it down to the important stuff. I didn't unlock the last 2 treasures since I was underleveled and this save file wasn't going to be used as new game plus.
wanted to challenge myself to beating all the named characters on a one-on-one fight except for Rhea who is a dragon boss. However, Catherine was the only one I had to cheese it. Cyril was a problem but we just attacked him twice. Couldn't kill him in one blow. Plus, my best guys were lagging behind, leaving Ingrid. My character was busy fending off the titan dolls. I didn't have chance to open the treasure chests. Plus, this save file wouldn't transfer weapons.
It seems the supports worked like dominoes. Both save files diverged. Silver Snow had Petra and Caspar marry because I allowed my little sister to pick Dorothea as S Rank. In this route, Dorothea and Petra had the highest support together
One less than Silver Snow. Ferdinand and Bernadetta was locked in from the start since both save files had them doing riding since part 1
This route was a bit exciting than the Silver Snow but it was awfully short. Each route has their own exclusive details. It didn't make sense for this route's Edelgard to know the secret behind the protagonist's origin. That should be for Rhea and Silver Snow route. I don't think they explain why Edelgard has the Flame of Crests. They could have fought her uncle instead of Cornelia. I don't remember Cornelia being in good relationship with Dimitri. I could be wrong.
Ingrid and her forces cut in my group. Hilda and Lorenz clashed into. Believe Sylvain beat Caspar. I had Edelgard take on Claude while my main character took on Dimitri.
One thing I learned about Dimitri. He is a good commander but he lacks patience. In one of the routes, that was one costly flaw. Not waiting for the Church to regain its resources. He and Claude team up to take down Edelgard only to die in vain, which I would like to see but it happens off screen.
I'm surprised it was Edelgard but Dimitri's route that they get to fight in a three way war, reliving the glory of Gronder 5 years later
Too bad, my sibling recruited everyone. We made guesses on who would be who at the NPCs. Of course, Bernadetta would be at the ballista.
My sibling just advance south but Claude had brought reinforcements north with 2 pegasus and one warrior causing some trouble. They had to steal from both lords who had master seals. Edelgard was the one they tackle first. She landed a Gambit on one of their units. To counter Claude, they had posted Dedue within range. Claude had a crit chance but didn't get it. Claude just fired arrows once.
Going through the lore and story. Also thought of adding who dies and who is alive at the end of each route.
Blue Lions is quite unique in that it shows Dimitri's relationship of Edelgard which never gets mentioned in Black Eagles. It shows how much Dimitri cares for Edelgard. In Black Eagles, you only know about Edelgard's reasons and backstory for the things she done. Dimitri wouldn't know much in his route only to resist and fight Edelgard.
For the third party evil guys,
While we find out Monica is Kronya, Tomas is Solon, I was surprised Arundel wasn't Thales when Dimitri and his forces defeated him during the sieg on Golden Deer's harbor where Claude requested Dimitri's help.
My first attempt at the last chapter was pretty bad. I thought I can just do it with my protagonist who can survive and defeat these birds because of the Seiros Shield. Discovered the problem is that I cannot break through the last boss's barriers by myself and deal damage afterwards because the boss regenerates barriers and health at a staggering rate I have not seen in past Fire Emblem games.
Conclusion of my 2nd Sibling's Blue Lions playthrough - this is their first playthrough
They don't take a lot of pictures. For their playthrough, they took the route to recruit everyone as they can. I never noticed the Death Knight had another presence in this route if you did Mercedes paralogue in this route. When I did the Blue Lions later on without recruiting anyone, I didn't have that cutscene dialogue before the map and then the CG illustrations afterwards.
I recall they had a hard time because of one mage spamming infinite meteors that if hit, the character's HP goes all the way down to 1. The key strategy was to knock that mage out first and then take their sweet time routing all enemies before making it to the boss.
Added Maddening mode to the New Game difficulty options. Note that if you clear Maddening mode without selecting New Game +, the title screen will change.
Increased the bonus Renown for selecting New Game + at the start of the game.
In addition to the usual difficulty bonus, 10,000 Pts. will now be added each time you clear a path.
The max threshold for bonus Renown is now 50,000 Pts.
If you already started playing using New Game + before applying the DLC data, 10,000 Pts. per cleared path will be added to each save slot the first time it is loaded.
Up to Ver.1.0.1, only the type of path cleared was saved but not the number of clears for the same path, which will now be saved applying the DLC Ver.1.0.2.
Added Goddess Tower to the Event Gallery in Extras. Use the ZL/ZR Buttons to select the Goddess Tower page, then choose a character event to replay.
The Event Gallery is unlocked once you’ve cleared the game.
Implemented new English voice for Byleth (male).
A new song (Corridor of the Tempest)
You can access the new song (Corridor of the Tempest) from the System menu while you are in an auxiliary battle. You can also listen to it in the Music Library.
New attire/accessory (House Loungewear / Glasses for Byleth)
The new attire (House Loungewear) is for the protagonist and students. Swap outfits in Byleth’s Personal Quarters from the Journal. These outfits are only wearable inside the monastery, or for specific unit classes during battle (this varies by character).
The new attire cannot be sent along with a traveler.
The new accessory (Glasses) can also be put on in Byleth’s Personal Quarters. They can be combined with any other attire. The glasses can be worn in the monastery and during battle.
A confirmation message is now displayed when you abandon an item during battle.
New Expansion Pass Content
A new set of items - You can receive this set of items as DLC Supplies from the bed in Byleth’s Personal Quarters. Each save file can receive these supplies: Sacred Galewind Shoes (Movement +1), Sacred Floral Robe (HP +7), Sacred Snowmelt Drop (Strength +3), Sacred Moonstone (Speed +3).
Additional auxiliary battles
There are five additional auxiliary battles in the Expansion Pass: Battle at Lake Teutates, Battle in the Forest, Battle at Gronder Field, Battle at the Sealed Forest, and Battle at Conand Tower.
Depending on your progress, one of them will be listed in the battle-selection screen.
These additional auxiliary battles will be marked with the yellow “!” icon in the battle-selection screen. As a bonus, these battles may give you status-up items, such as Ailell Pomegranate, and an increased Gold reward in addition to the Bullions.
All maps will consume one activity point to start.
