Hells is a two-hour movie made by studio madhouse. The story is about a girl, Amagane Rinne, running late to school when she sees a black cat in the middle of the street. While trying to save the cat, she got into an accident that sent her to hell. Now she is stuck in a school in hell where she must try to get out with the help of her new classmates, friends and odd acquaintance on the way.
The movie lived up to the title of hell, as I felt like I was in hell from the sheer annoyance of this movie. This movie was fast pace, threw new plot every five minutes, never let me breathe, felt long, was testing my patience and was just annoying. Is a fast pace "comedy", set in hell that tries to throw in some cool religious story into it, to make it more sentimental, but just does not work together. I try to think if it was just due to the fast-paced nature of this movie, but then I look back at “The Night is Short, walk-on Girl” and I love that movie and that was fast pace and surreal. So why did I found this movie annoying to sit through while enjoying “The Night is Short, walk on Girl”? Well, the reason probably had to with the fact that this movie was not clever, it was not funny, and had a world that needed to be flesh out, and felt generic. The beginning of the movie had that stupid cliché of a girl running late with toast on her mouth, and getting hit by a truck while saving someone. I thought they were going to something clever with that, and they really didn’t. As a comedy, the movie personally was not funny, as lots of the jokes are the type of gag you see in every other anime. The plot itself is sort of interesting and touch some cool religious story. That being said lots of the plot elements feel like they come out of nowhere. With the movie feeling like it had a never-ending one hour climax that made the movie feel long. Making me think when the hell is this freaking movie going to end. Add to the fact that they never really do a good job in fleshing any of the characters. I mean the main character is the generic energetic girl who just wants to be friends with everybody and never give up. The side characters are…………………… honestly I could not say much about any of the other characters, because it never felt like we spend much time with them. With the character growth feeling rush, or just not focus on, and new characters being thrown in. The problem with the characters is the fact that it is too fast-paced, not letting us get to know the characters they introduce while introducing new ones. Which is a detriment to the movie especially when some of these side characters become more important. It just a fast pace mess that never let the audience connect with the movie, and felt really long with the amount of multiple ending it had. It was just a hellish experience, and not the good kind
The animation and art style admittedly was great. Love the designs for many of the residents in hell, with the art style reminded me of Soul Eater. While it is a shame that we did not get to know most of the characters, and the cool-looking world, visually it was great to look at. The animation and art style did a great capturing a chaotic gothic hell.
The movie overall was just a chore to get through. While a good looking movie, the plot, the pacing, the characters, and just about everything else was just not that good. While I can see some people maybe being able to enjoy it due to the animation and just enjoying the crazy fast pace ride with plot being throw, it just annoyed me. I give this movie a D+.

Dream: Hmmmm... looks like the version of Vampire Bund I'm seeing on Funi's YouTube channel's an edited version. A couple minutes of episode 2 were clearly removed with Mina in nothing but underwear battling human assassins. Then again, recall there was a good...

Dream: Not sure if I should be donning the nostalgia goggles or not giving a damn. Looks like the original Digimon Adventure series is getting a reboot airing starting in the Spring season.

Taka: I'll watch it if there's nothing catching my eye in Spring. winter 2020 was a weak anime season for me.

Dream: Wouldn't say it's all bad for me. Have a few titles holding my interest. Just it typically doesn't have as many major titles of note that would hold me over.
