Persona 5 Summary: Beneath the veneer of typical urban high school life, a group of teenagers mask their mysterious alter egos, their "phantom thief" side. Who are they? Why are they dressed as such? What are their motives? And... why are they being pursued? A picaresque coming-of-age story, Persona 5 brings a new twist to the RPG genre. Assume the role of a second-year high school student who becomes a Persona-user through an unexpected incident. Having moved to Tokyo just before the start of the school year, he finds residence at a cafe run by his parents' friend, and is about to get his first taste of school life in the big city. The protagonist seems quiet and well-mannered at first glance, but gives a completely different impression once he has donned his "phantom thief" guise. What is the motivation of his alter ego...? Arsene is the protagonist's initial Persona, characterized by a mask-like face and a pair of huge, black wings. Some suspect an association between its name and the famous gentleman-thief, Arsene Lupin. What is the origin of this Persona, and what power does it hold? This is an account of the wild adventures experienced by a team of young misfits, who grow dramatically along the way. While attending Shujin High School, the protagonist will encounter a number of individuals, each with his or her own distinctive personality and charm. School life in the city is full of surprises and interesting events! It will most definitely be a fun year for the protagonist, living as an ordinary student. However, he and his friends become involved in an incident which leads to the awakening of their Personas. No one would ever suspect that these adolescents will eventually shake the world... Welcome to the next iteration of the Persona series, boasting a brand new metropolitan setting, all-new cast, and fresh, original story.

Taka, Those are trailer threads, and since I've already set this and JoJo up for the discussion in the same style as the others we will just use these (JoJo's isd done on a page here but I was too tired to post it along with the rest). Lock those 2 threads and I'll add links to them in a related threads section at the bottom of the respective pages and in the hub thread when I figure out a style for it.
Yusuke, I was doing that back then but got sidetracked with other projects. Only converted Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive. The rest I will get through for consistency with threads. I meant to convert all the trailer threads into discussions back then.
Here's my summary post from the trailer thread. A list of confirmed characters:
Jun Fukuyama as Protagonist, the person who is considered the leader of the phantom thief group. He is a 16-year-old boy who just transferred to a new high school, but he seems adult-like at a glance. He currently lives with his parents' friend at a teahouse. His reason for coming to the big city is private for now.
Mamoru Miyano as Ryuji Sakamoto. Like the protagonist, he's a 16-year-old second-year in the same high school. He displays wild behavior, so is considered a problem child at school. He's usually watched by the teachers and advisers at school. He didn't used to have act like this, so what was the cause of his bad behavior?
Nana Mizuki as An Takamaki, a student at the same school. She is 16-year-old quarter American. Because of her stand-out appearance, she tends to cut herself off from her surroundings at school. She spends time with the protagonist and Ryuji. There's a weird rumor about her going around the school, but it's unclear whether or not it's true.
Ikue Ohtani as Morgana, the most mysterious part of the phantom thief group. Morgana has the height of a child and the appearance of a black cat, but Morgana's identity is completely unknown. That looks like a headpiece...? That's all the information there is so far. Morgana resembles a black cat that spends time with the protagonist, but...
Over the weekend we posted about a countdown that recently went up on the official Persona 5 website, ticking down the time until May 5. While no new information is here yet, Atlus announced that the countdown will end with a special Niconico broadcast on May 5 at 21:30 JST.
We'll have to wait and see what the "Take Tokyo Tower" broadcast ends up consisting of, but it's a pretty safe bet that we'll learn more about Persona 5, and at the very least see some fresh footage.
We have a date for the Americas release date: February 14, 2017 (PS4/PS3)
Atlus also confirmed that it will offer a “Take Your Heart” Premium Edition exclusively on the PlayStation 4. The US$89.99 box will contain:
Soundtrack CD: A selection of music from Persona 5 by legendary series composer, Shoji Meguro, in a CD sleeve featuring special P5 artwork. 4” Morgana plush: Morgana the Phantom Thieves' cat is not just the mascot of the Phantom Thieves, but also a member – and also not just a cat! The premium edition includes an exclusive 4” plush of Morgana. 64-page hardcover art book: This art book is full of concept sketches, character art, and more by character designer Shigenori Soejima. SteelBook: As strong as a vault, the game disc for the PS4 will come specially packaged in a SteelBook collectible case, emblazoned with Persona 5 designs. School bag: Designed after the traditional school bags in Japan, the exclusive replica bag comes complete with the Shujin Academy crest.
Atlus will also offer a US$59.99 SteelBook® Launch Edition for PlayStation 4 with the same SteelBook case as the other limited edition.
The announced television anime special, Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, will air in September, before the game's launch. It will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.
Important Updates on Persona 5 in regards to language options:
Game news website Siliconera reported on Tuesday that Atlus' upcoming Persona 5 role-playing game will not include a dual-language option, but will instead contain only English voices and text. Atlus stated that the game's English script "provides a faithful and engaging play experience."
Atlus is looking into whether they could do a Japanese voice over DLC.
Atlus USA public relations manager John Hardin stated over Twitter on Wednesday that he is looking into the possibility of a Japanese voice over DLC for the upcoming game Persona 5. He added, "And regarding expectations, know that is a massively steep, uphill request."
As previously revealed, the game itself will only have an English dub.
AKG is offering Wireless Headphones AKG K845BT, recreating the headphones used by the game's Futaba Sakura character (voiced by Yū Aoki), for 39,800 yen (about US$400). Pre-orders have started on Tuesday.
News about the manga:
Hisato Murasaki will launch the Persona 5 manga on Shogakukan's Manga One app on September 15, and then on the Ura Sunday website on September 22.
Taka: My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo was probably Ep 22.

Dream: The one with zombies excavating for treasure? Think that one's the most out there of episodes in the series. Mine's probably the one involving Mugen busting a counterfeit coin ring while trying to get nookie from a ninja girl disguised as a prostitute.

Master Menos: Updates complete. As for a life update, I'm quitting my fast food job soon. Was good for my very first job, but things are getting FAR too chaotic for my tastes.
Feb 6, 2020 22:06:13 GMT
Dream: Far as job front goes on my end, still waiting on projects to start up with my freelance job. Beyond that, nothing new for other work in my search.
Feb 6, 2020 22:42:02 GMT
Dream: Just completed Spice and Wolf. Plan to work on a review for it sometime tomorrow. Too late to have any inhibition to get one done from my end.
Feb 7, 2020 3:17:29 GMT
Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.
Feb 7, 2020 5:19:21 GMT
Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.
Feb 9, 2020 3:24:18 GMT
Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.
Feb 11, 2020 2:11:38 GMT
Taka: What? That sounds so weird.
Feb 11, 2020 5:36:23 GMT
Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!
Feb 11, 2020 6:31:08 GMT
Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.
Feb 13, 2020 22:47:26 GMT
Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)
Feb 15, 2020 4:17:13 GMT
Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.
Feb 15, 2020 16:50:30 GMT
Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
