I found the first episode very cool, although I found the pace very slow for something that will only have 13 episodes. Well, since characters like Jack the Ripper were presented as promotional images, I guess I can. Assume they will at least arrive in the arc of Licht? It seems slow to get there.
Ep 1: Oh so Crunchyroll did simulcast UQ Holder, good to know XD. I guess Narutail piece would also work. It seems alright, but generic, I mean it is similar to the first episode of UQ Holder which I watch recently.
Jgames , actually Sentai is simulcasting UQ Holder on anime strike
I am joking since is similar to the first episode of UQ Holder. A guy that has no magic, and an assassin type guy about to kill his friend until something happen to give him power. Granted is a common trope in general. I have anime strike, so I am well aware even though I should just pirate it to be honest, they have censorship they can screw themselve.
Episode 2: DROP. I mean first of all I thought Made in Abyss was annoying with its recap, but this was three whole minute. I mean is not Kenichi season one bad, but still. Not to mention I don't know why they did not finish the fight last episode and made the episode a flashback. The pacing was odd, it was not fun to watch, it was boring and annoying.

The first 3 episodes have been interesting the pace is a bit too slow. It would be fine if next episode was all the Entrance Exam but it seems like it might be more filler. Hopefully the exam is only 1 or 2 episodes and we can get into the story by episode 7 or so.
I don't meant it as an offense. Though, it will work as a flaw for other fans who are reviewing the anime/manga franchise.
Not a lot of Shonen anime are "original" to a degree and will add some degree of variations to make things "fresher". Some will have cliches recycle. Dragon Ball is pretty much the sole parent where most of these guys come from.
I'm not familiar with Black Clover's author as I know the mangaka had a rough time with Hungry Joker which canceled due to poor sales.
I will still enjoy Black Clover and will see how the anime will fare as I have no interest in reading manga, being an anime person.

Taka, I wish the pacing was faster. It's okay now but the beginning is one of the weakest parts. Plus we still haven't met the rest of the cast. Oh well, the series is fine now. Glad you're enjoying it.
According to FUNimation, they just reveal the episode count which is 13 episodes
Good or bad depending on your perspective
This is the shortest shonen anime I seen to date with their first opening season
There was another Shonen anime adaptation of a young manga series, Twin Exorcists, they went full 50 episodes or so with lots of filler
This might create another expectation. Because if an anime is short, some people's expectations would want the anime to do up to their standards because it's short. Those 12 episodes will make or break the franchise's success
When you look for anime news, it's always best to look for credible sources such as main news outlets such as ANN or Moetron
Taka: As for anime business, I'll work on the Spring 2020 anime stuff this weekend. I will finish up the Winter 2020 banners. My apologies. I thought I will out of work due to the virus outbreak. I'm glad I'm still working at the pharmacy
