Booha guy has a statue of himself as his transporation
the witch is actually the Wizard King whom the subs call an otaku for some reason. At least I think I remember them using Otaku
I say another word would be better
The better and interesting parts of the episode was the creepy guy who hired Yuno and his folks. For some reason, some guys only targeted Yuno. Creepy guy is probably behind it.
You know a village with a giant skull of where the Wizard King slay the demon would be a popular tourist destination instead of being the boonies. The guys who live there, Asta and Yuno's people don't bat an eye living near a giant skull.
They spent an entire episode on Yuno's home trip, Sister got kidnap, I don't know why they added another flashback of Yuno and Asta when they were young and helping Sister because it's unnecessary, nothing new is being added
Salim was exposed
Oh yes, everyone is hitting on Sister, I feel bad for her
It was cute seeing Yuno get competitive when Asta sent more money home
Black Clover does what it does best, recycle shonen cliches but doesn't do any ground breaking. It's pretty much predictable that Asta and Yuno will stay behind to protect their friend. I find Luck's lack of conflict and build up for his backstory an issue. There was no need to go into his character if there is no serious need for Luck at all. He didn't have a conflict or a fight with Asta. No, it was just him need to think he needs to do teamwork. It was a sloppy character write up.
This was mediocre because there was not much meaning in Asta and Yuno's fight. They swear to protect their friends but there was no passion or anything at stake. Why do we get a backstory of the diamond guy? He's a villain but I don't think we are going to see him again nor he has any character development or anything that needs something.
I"m confused about Asta's power. He pick up a new sword in the treasure vault that acts like his sword (produced by his grimoire). The only difference is that sword is thinner to let him swing faster. Noelle and Mavis get a flashback but they weren't the focus of the episode. Another character that got a flashback was the diamond guy who can heal by fire which is pretty stupid to me. Episode was decent. I didn't see any padding, just poor CGI animation with diamond guy and weird flashback inserts.
The end of the arc - Asta doesn't have just anti-magic. He can copy magic, temporarily, so that means he has magic. This show is bit weird with powers especially Mars. For Mars, his backstory, killed his childhood friend. They just randomly think let's add her fire power for kicks. I still don't get how lighting yourself on fire heals.
Asta feeling sad for Mars - felt unwarranted. You barely know the guy or interacted or learn his generic backstory of how stupid people kill and wittle their army into the strong. That just diminishes man power. The only thing Asta had learn was Diamond Kingdom putting stones. That was it.
The rest was okay. Klaus acknowledging Yuno and Asta. Noelle, tsundere but she approves of Asta.
Dream: It looks like reported coronavirus cases in Japan have stayed fairly stable since the country's state of emergency was lifted. Unless there's a major spike in cases, don't think we have to worry about production delays for this season.

Dream: Currently on the third and last volume to the True Tenchi Muyo light novels, Washu. Got about 40-50 pages left to read of it before I'd say I'm done.

Taka: Virtual anime conventions - this year has been taking twists and turns. People are making adjustments. I think I spend over 100 dollars every time I go to Anime Expo each year (counting in total of badge cost, food, transportation, and merchandise).

Taka: I'll be saving money. Though, the pandemic has caused a lot of folks to have reduced hours, took time off, or laid off. Most folks' disposable income is a bit tight.

Taka: So Tenchi Geminar has a school full of mostly girls just like Infinite Stratos and many harem shows.
Jul 8, 2020 6:50:40 GMT
Dream: Yeah. After Tenchi Muyo, Masaki Kajishima dabbled into several other harem titles, some of which not being based in the Tenchi timeline, which all have the same resolution of where the male lead "has them all." But they aren't really as popular.

Taka: I need to finish Geminar and GXP. Just cancel FUNimation which leaves me until July 23rd unless there are at least 3 shows that catch my eye from this season.
