Welcome to the Eromanga Sensei review! First off, I won't be comparing it to Oreimo and it will be hard to resist comparisons. It will be better for a dual review when Eromanga Sensei finishes. Another reason is because I don't want to alienate fans who watched this anime but haven't watched Oreimo yet.
Eromanga Sensei is about two step siblings who are pretty distant with each other. Masamune Izumi is a light novel author while his step sister Sagiri Izumi is a shut in due to her mother's death. Little does he know that his little sister is a light novel illustrator and the same one he worked after finishing his first light novel, Eromanga Sensei.
After the secret out, things start to change for the two of them and they meet new people.
That's the gist of the show.
One of the issues with this show (maybe because it's based on a light novel series that hasn't concluded) is its pacing and a lack of end objective. There is no goal for these characters. This I would compared to Oreimo that had a goal. I will stop with the comparisons. Without an objective, there is nothing to expect. Does Masamune aspire to be the best light novel? Or does he want to work with his sister and help her go outside. For that matter, Izumi doesn't do much. They pretty much accepted her shut-in status nor does she make any progress going outside. For Izumi, I don't know if it hurts her character or does anything. The show's real focus is pretty much build this loving bond between the step siblings and for those who dislike incest or seen Oreimo and will seen this as the usual, the relationship steps into implied romance.
For the romance part, there are 2 other girls vying for his attention, Elf Yamada and Muramasa Senju. Because of the pacing, it makes their love superficial especially Muramasa's because the episode she makes a debut (or was it the episode afterwards), she basically confesses to Masamune and there is no reason for the explanation until she along with Elf get an episode dedicated to them during the Fairy Island arc later on.
While there is no objective and the anime cannot conclude but end on a good note to entice viewers to want more, episode 11 was the best closer even thought they ended with episode 12 which seems like filler comedy. Episode 11 covers how the siblings meant which help bring closure.
Oh I forgot about the humor and fan service.
Types of Fan Service
Heavy Male Gaze particularly on Sagiri
Speaking of Sagiri, our cast of girls are much younger compared to the usual anime where girls are usually high school level
lots of nudity but they block nipples but not butts
For humor, the show is very dirty and explicit in a sexual nature.
Lastly, I would only recommend the series to folks who don't mind ecchi and particularly incest even though it's stepcest. Show gets a 7 for me if it was longer and more developed.
Old Man Dream: ...later titles in the Macross franchise can finally come stateside with all involved parties finally coming to a truce over how to handle things with the Macross trademark and all later anime in the franchise associated with it.

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
