Hey everybody. As you guys might know, I almost always like the villain more than the hero. To me, the villain is nearly constantly the most interesting character in the series. What are some of your favorite anime villains? Manga and VN villains are fine as well. Please actually describe who they are, what series they are from and what you like about them. If your description contains spoilers for the series, please put spoiler tags around it. A picture is also encouraged. For example, one of my favorite villains is:
To me, Meruem is pretty much the perfect villain, which makes sense given that Hunter x Hunter is one of my favorite anime of all time. He starts off unspeakably evil and cruel, even ripping apart his mother to escape from her womb because he was impatient to be born. He would murder without a second thought, and had no issue even eating the brains of small children. He was not just insanely powerful, he had a wicked intellect and a passion for strategy; inviting in, training with and beating all of the greatest strategy game players in the world. That is, until he meets Komugi; a blind, snot nosed peasant girl who genuinely cares about his well being and is literally unbeatable at Gungi. Watching Meruem slowly grow more and more human as he interacts with this child is amazing, to the point that by the end I garuntee you will cry at his defeat. That's right, the defeat of this monster who ate children like livestock was so sad it makes people cry.
So much of what makes a good villain is their motive. Too often we see villain's with simplistic motives like "Destruction for the sake of Destruction" or "Destroy the world for...reasons?". When you find that rare villain that has a true actual motive for their actions, it leaves a much better lasting impression.
For me, Uchiha Itachi is one of the greatest villains of all time. When he is first introduced we see him as the cold hearted, impossible wall for his younger brother Sasuke. Itachi's ruthlessly is cemented into our minds when he brutally beats his little brother Sasuke right in front of our eyes. When Sasuke finally becomes strong enough to face his older brother, Itachi reveals his "true" motivation. He wants Sasuke's eyes and he'll stop at nothing to rip them from his brother's skull. All hope for Sasuke seems lost, he is exhausted, cornered and Itachi's hand reaches for his eye, then out of no where, "tap" Itachi pokes Sasuke's forehead. With a smile he says, "Sorry Sasuke, this is the last time". We are left completely shocked. What happened? Why did Itachi do that, wasn't he trying to take Sasuke's eyes and kill him?
Its only after Tobi reveals Itachi's secrets do we learn of his internal torture. Uchiha Itachi, forced to eradicate his own clan, his own family, all for the sake of the greater good. Despite all that, always protecting and looking out for his little brother. Becoming the metaphorical "Dark Knight" of the Naruto series, Itachi sacrifices his future, for the good of his brother and the Shinobi world. All the while, taking his dark secret to his grave.
Doom Guy, I don't know Ryan, but Shishio and Sensui are both amazing
Yes they are both amazing, I thought I'd put Griffith in, but although he's a great villain, I really can not like him, thanks to the crimes he's committed against his friends.
Bryan was a villain who liked it a lot, it is difficult to find a "villain" in a sports manga, usually the maximum is an antagonist, Bryan Hawk was the first that besides being totally detestable, really wanted to kill the opponent during the combat and had a Very good construction too.
Has been secretly wiping out ancient clans and their descendants which number in the tens of millions to strengthen his own clan as well as gathering souls from all over the continent so that he could preserve the strength of his own clan and reach the Dou di level. He became very close to ruling the world if it were not because of Xiao yan.
Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.

Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.

Taka: Great job, Dream! I should do some reviews, too.

Dream: Looks like MAL's currently down due to the site getting hit by a major denial-of-service attack, just as a heads up.

Taka: I added 2 polls tonight. Also, I wonder why MAL was down. Crunchyroll also had it, too.
Feb 20, 2020 4:05:24 GMT
Dream: Not sure about Crunchyroll. For MAL, the DoS attacks may have been retaliation by those who dabbled into manipulating the site's scoring system for certain anime titles. The admin on MAL announced they would be overhauling the system to prevent said...

Dream: ...manipulation last week.
