Since it's Pride Month, I thought of doing a review on DAKAICHI. I should try to review shows after watching them within that short period of that. I thought I had written a lot of episode comments on the discussion thread. (http://animevice.boards.net/thread/13504/dakaichi-harassed-sexiest-man-discussion) I didn't make a lot. This will be based solely based on my memory. It will be short.
"The veteran actor who has held the title of ""Most Desirable Bachelor"" for 5 years in a row, Takato Saijyo, and the up and coming actor who recently dethroned him, Junta Azumaya. Enter the cut throat world of the entertainment industry, where the two most desirable bachelors find themselves in a forbidden scandal. The biggest scandal of 2018 is about to unfold!
The anime is 13 episodes long and mainly focuses on the two lovers. Their side characters, the ones whom work with the actors serve as pillars of support. I only remember 2 instances for Takato, overcoming the risks and achieving the happiness to stay together after the break up.
In terms of sex and fan service, I saw my comments on it and assume they pretty much had sex for almost every episode. Junta is a very assertive, handsome, horny angel. For some reason, yaoi and yuri tends to have couples blatantly labeled "herbivore" and "carnivore" for yuri and "top" and "bottom" for yaoi.
I don't expect social commentary for all my anime I watched. I think for this anime that deals with the acting industry and how hazardous the culture can be on the idols, both men, women, and other. They could have gone deeper with it and made this yaoi anime stand out. There was a photographer who made his money on photographing scandals. He regretted hurting that female idol. The two lovers were caught in a scandal until Junta makes a deal. There wasn't much drama with things being solved too easily in terms of dire situation.
For cliches, the biggest one I remember is the introduction of love rivals which you see for most romance based stories. The love rivals weren't as challenging enough to break the pair up.
If you are looking for a yaoi story with a happy ending, this one has it. I believe the characters aren't too annoying but most of them are one dimensional as we focused mostly on Takato and Junta. Don't take the anime too seriously since logic isn't the best especially for Takato who gets blackmailed too easily.
Been a while since I saw you writing a review. I was going to do a review on a yaoi show, but just never had the chance to, but maybe I can write a quick review for Banana Fish, since that show is a bit underrated imo.
Also I be honest, this anime looks terrible, but if it plays off as more of a comedy than a romance, I might be able to get into it.
Old Man Dream: ...later titles in the Macross franchise can finally come stateside with all involved parties finally coming to a truce over how to handle things with the Macross trademark and all later anime in the franchise associated with it.

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
