Plot: Kisaragi Amatsuyu is invited out alone by the cool beauty upperclassman Cosmos and his childhood friend Himawari. Expecting to hear their confessions, he triumphantly goes to meet each of them in turn. But Cosmos and Himawari both instead confess to Amatsuyu that they like his friend. Amatsuyu fights this lonely battle, but there is another girl who is looking at him. She is a gloomy girl with glasses and braids. Amatsuyu finds that he hates her, because she's always turning her sharp tongue only on him and finding enjoyment in his troubles. But it turns out that she's the only one who actually does like him.
Shuka Saitō is performing the opening theme song "Papapa." Haruka Tomatsu (voice of Pansy), Haruka Shiraishi (voice of Himawari), and Sachika Misawa (voice of Cosmos) are performing the ending theme song "Hanakotoba."
Aniplex of America began streaming on Monday an English-subtitled version of the second promotional video for ORESUKI: Are you the only one who loves me?, the television anime of Rakuda and Buriki's Ore wo Suki na no wa Omae Dake ka yo (Are You Really the Only One Who Likes Me) light novel series. The video reveals that the series will debut on both Crunchyroll and FunimationNow on October 2.
The glasses girl's flower is Pansy. Sun, the baseball player is attracting Himawari (Sunflower) and Cosmos. I thought Sun was going to confess he like the protagonist. No, he likes the glasses girl. Ep 2 had a good plot twist because I think Sumireko (Pansy) planned it from the start to gather everyone once the two girls abandon Joro who lied to win Sun's affections and begin supporting Sun whom asked them to help him gain the affection Sumireko (Pansy).
Now, Joro is caught red handed in front of them at the library. Now, things can go either way next episode:
Joro gets abandoned and no one including Sun his best friend would go to him. Cosmos and Sunflower now can fight for Sun's affections. Sun will abandon his crush on Sumireko.
Oh it's a big reveal. His best friend Sun is a jerk. So we have two male jerks in this anime but our hero falls in the tv tropes of jerks with a heart of gold. Sun knows the protagonist cares for him.
The protagonist forgets the middle school girl whom Sun had affections is the same girl, Pansy. Sarashi/chest bindings and glasses dramatically unveils Pansy's hidden, beauty self. The ending theme song had interface spoilers.
Brings the spotlight to a new character or introduced a new character. She might have debuted a bit earlier. She was writing a newspaper on Joro being a playboy. She has ulterior motives.
Reveals the truth that Hina had purposely disseminated the article. Cosmos really dig into the matter that Hina wanted to be the only one to dance with Joro.
That fateful baseball game. Joro was trying to get a closer look at Pansy's chest while being struck by a foul ball that was aiming towards Hina. The anime keeps revisiting the event with adding more complicated matters.
It was a treat to watch Joro dance with Himawari, Cosmos, and finally Pansy. For the first time ever, flower language is mentioned by Pansy.
This was the pool/obligatory swimsuit fan service episode.
What separates this episode from the others before it: a large involvement not spotlight on Sun. They like to (not sure if I used the word right) yaoi bait with Sun and Jiro.
The girls try to compete by taking Jiro on an activity they feel is the most fun: --Sunflower on the waterslide --Cosmos on the unicorn? (wasn't sure what it was? It was a lovers ride on a giant balloon animal) --Pansy in the hot spring section. I thought that was weird also. It's just a warm pool area fitted to be like a hot spring.
Jiro, amusingly saves Jiro from embarrassment.
There was one concurrent story running alongside that I don't remember the character. She's a tsundere gyaru girl with red hair who made up with Jiro at the pool. It was a short not memorable scene. Yet, she changes her look completely. The show does pretty deceiving transformations.
We get a new girl who knew Jiro and Jiro forgot her. God, it's like most harem protagonists to forget their long lost childhood friend.
We get more info on the new girl who was revealed to not be a typical childhood friend trope. She just met the guy at the festival stands. The protagonist who is suspicious of her because the other girls in the past episodes all have secrets.
Only until the end, we get a hint/foreshadowing that she has something.
The turn of events occur when the protagonist needs a job to help pay for a new book because the book he borrow got water/coffee? damaged. It was Pansy's book. The new girl offered him a job at her family's place.
There wasn't any dramatic big secret. Tsubaki was just a good girl. The episode's focus fell on Joro's relationship with Sunflower/Himawari and Pansy over the book.
The sunflower girl skipped tennis practice to get him the book while Pansy girl said Joro shouldn't compare himself and something (can't remember) that he will always have her.
Joro got mad at the two. He somehow patched things up with the two in the same episode.
The race for who wins Joro's heart has Sunflower girl in the lead (other than Sun, best boy) who sneak a kiss on him and loudly declare Joro bought her a gift, a new tennis racket much to Cosmos and Pansy's chagrin.
This harem series has a strange feel in a way it doesn't feel like a harem.
I don't remember episode 11. I think I remember. We explore Pansy's backstory of middle school because the 3 newish characters who appeared before but haven't got a proper debut reveal they had a past relationship with Pansy.
The recap episode's commentary had some foreshadowing on Hose.
Pansy has 3 love interests: Joro (not set in stone since he has his own harem), Sun, and Hose.
The live-streamed Aniplex 48-Hour TV program debuted a new video and key visual for the upcoming original video anime (OVA) project of Rakuda and Buriki's Ore wo Suki na no wa Omae Dake ka yo (Are you the only one who loves me?) light novel series on Saturday. The video announces project's main staff, cast, and May 23 advance release in 10 theaters throughout Japan.
Dream: It looks like reported coronavirus cases in Japan have stayed fairly stable since the country's state of emergency was lifted. Unless there's a major spike in cases, don't think we have to worry about production delays for this season.

Dream: Currently on the third and last volume to the True Tenchi Muyo light novels, Washu. Got about 40-50 pages left to read of it before I'd say I'm done.

Taka: Virtual anime conventions - this year has been taking twists and turns. People are making adjustments. I think I spend over 100 dollars every time I go to Anime Expo each year (counting in total of badge cost, food, transportation, and merchandise).

Taka: I'll be saving money. Though, the pandemic has caused a lot of folks to have reduced hours, took time off, or laid off. Most folks' disposable income is a bit tight.

Taka: So Tenchi Geminar has a school full of mostly girls just like Infinite Stratos and many harem shows.
Jul 8, 2020 6:50:40 GMT
Dream: Yeah. After Tenchi Muyo, Masaki Kajishima dabbled into several other harem titles, some of which not being based in the Tenchi timeline, which all have the same resolution of where the male lead "has them all." But they aren't really as popular.

Taka: I need to finish Geminar and GXP. Just cancel FUNimation which leaves me until July 23rd unless there are at least 3 shows that catch my eye from this season.
