One day, Michiru, who was a normal highschool student suddenly turns into a tanuki person. AAAMYYY and is a colorful production produced at Canadian animation house Giant Ant with Genice Chan directing, who did the concept art for the TV anime, with song
Netflix will stream Brand New Animal on June 30th. Here is the Japanese broadcast info:
The first six episodes of the anime debuted exclusively on Netflix on March 21 in Japan, and episodes 7-12 debuted on Netflix in Japan on May 6. The anime premiered on Fuji TV's "+Ultra" programming block on April 8 at 24:55 (effectively, April 9 at 12:55 a.m.)
Michiru the Tanuki (?) departs to Anima City where beastmen live in sanctuary. So the racism part only exists between humans and beastmen. The only other franchise I can think of that bears semblance would be Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.
Trigger is goofy with their animation. We had a big wolf who can smell really well.
We don't get much world building but we get a conspiracy, Michiru believes she's human. The student id proves it. Though, the beastmen can revert to their human form. For Michiru's case, she was human whom became a beastmen.
She gets her wallet back from the thief after the wolf saved her and the kids whom were sold off by the women of Rabbit Town.
Michiru has some strange powers compared to other beastmen.
Episode 5 is the baseball episode. Not much plot progress. Just a silly episode. Michiru always gets into trouble or trouble finds her. Turns out this baseball tournament has gambling crime.
In Japanese folklore (not mentioned in this anime), tanuki and foxes don't get along. This actually happen with Michiru as she finds her friend to be the founder of the church. She's a fox pretending to be a silver wolf. The mayor is suspicious of Cliff Boris (can see why since he touched Nazuna) and the Church.
We had bird beastmen, those flamingo girls, but they don't show them flying in that baseball episode. Then, we had 2 Albatross. One of them was a terrorist and the other the assassin. The terrorist crashed into Michiru's home.
I thought Nazuna didn't have the physical enhancements like Michiru. It appears I was wrong. She has both transformative and physical enhancements. In this episode, we see Michiru grew wings and then Nazuna whom saved Alan, a human.
We learned the origin of the silver wolf. The art style and facial expressions Michiru makes during the scene where Ogami gets impaled and seriously injured doesn't help make these scenes cohesive in serious tone.
Why did the cop didn't have anyone accompany the priest whom infected the prisoner?
Up to Ep 10. I'm still suspicious because Trigger likes to do plot twists in a grand way. We had a huge revelation through someone's statement, Alan. The Beastmen went berserk due to stress and killed each other. Ogami thought it was the humans who wiped out his people.
The cure is turning the beastmen into humans. The other solution is the mayor wanting to disperse the beastmen.
There are still unresolved mysteries: who told Cliff to inject the assassin albatross and then the cliffhanger end where the mayor was arrested.
Taka: Virtual anime conventions - this year has been taking twists and turns. People are making adjustments. I think I spend over 100 dollars every time I go to Anime Expo each year (counting in total of badge cost, food, transportation, and merchandise).

Taka: I'll be saving money. Though, the pandemic has caused a lot of folks to have reduced hours, took time off, or laid off. Most folks' disposable income is a bit tight.

Taka: So Tenchi Geminar has a school full of mostly girls just like Infinite Stratos and many harem shows.
Jul 8, 2020 6:50:40 GMT
Dream: Yeah. After Tenchi Muyo, Masaki Kajishima dabbled into several other harem titles, some of which not being based in the Tenchi timeline, which all have the same resolution of where the male lead "has them all." But they aren't really as popular.

Taka: I need to finish Geminar and GXP. Just cancel FUNimation which leaves me until July 23rd unless there are at least 3 shows that catch my eye from this season.
Jul 9, 2020 3:27:17 GMT
Dream: Believe GXP was pulled from Funi's streaming site last year because their digital rights to the series expired. But you should still be able to stream War on Geminar on their site.
Jul 9, 2020 13:36:38 GMT
Taka: Darn, for some reason I thought it was still there. I finished Geminar. Well, I guess I proceed and watch the rest of those OVAs on CR.
Jul 10, 2020 1:37:08 GMT
Taka: I think I can write a review on Geminar. I wished I made a discussion thread and kept notes on it. I tend to forget small details and make mistakes when interpreting character actions.
