First episode was fun, the songs were pretty meta. 2nd and 3rd episodes were okay. I feel the Animaniacs reminded me of Bugs Bunny but more mean spirited. I don't remember the old one as much. Then I saw on HULU that they have the old series under a very specific category, 90's nostalgia. I forgot they had a much bigger cast and the Animaniacs were more in the supportive role rather having a central role.
Watched a few episodes. I think I never did watched the original myself when I was young. It was my siblings. I watched with them but not so much. I never did had any nostalgia for the series.
Right now for HULU, there are not much animated series to watch as I have a hard time getting into live action shows.
I don't know most of the celebrities so I'm lost on most of the references and jokes plus some pop culture references that is lost on me and reminds me how much I'm a foreigner in America.
One of the episodes had the Warner Brothers and Sister mentioning how they don't have the older characters. They do show up as a cameo after a "poor man's Elmer Fudd" (as they said) was revealed to be Chicken Boo. I had to look up Chicken Boo if that character existed.
What else to note?
Making fun of historical figures like Marie during the French Revolution. Making fun of presidents and other political figures in other countries. I I ended up skipping the Pinky and Brain segments as it wasn't my cup of tea.
We had a Russian parody (satire is probably the better word) episode. I seen a lot of comedy clips on Youtube regarding Russia. Not much new stuff. Animaniacs find out there is a Russian show based on them, a low quality version.
Last bit was poking fun at journalism.
It's okay. Nothing new, funny, or thought provoking.
Old Man Dream: Well, I went ahead and already spoiled myself over later events in the series. Looks like that gets fairly messy with handling its little plot twist involving Rika, Satoko, and the mentioned story element having some assume there's some sort of...

Old Man Dream: ...Umineko crossover. May have liked the idea with better handling of the story development. But it's basically made Satoko a rather unlikable character now.

Taka: It's a gigantic mech franchise. I haven't seen Macross myself. I know it's a big one.

Old Man Dream: Guess we don't get it. Make things short and sweet: Through some unintentional legal wranglings, Harmony Gold's owned international rights to the Macross name for decades and its Japanese developers, disgusted by the move, had not allowed...

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
