According to MyAnimeList, this anime is the most watched romantic comedy series:
Since the airing of Horimiya's first episode on Saturday, a total of 69,088 users on the anime listing site MyAnimeList have logged themselves as "watching" the anime on their accounts, seemingly breaking the record for the most-watched premiere for a debut romantic comedy among users of the site. The record was previously held by Rent-A-Girlfriend with 55,228 logged viewers within seven days of its debut.
This is perhaps less surprising when you consider that HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara's Horimiya manga is currently ranked 13th in popularity on MyAnimeList, with 121,623 users logged as reading the manga as of this writing.
Still, until MyAnimeList releases the official numbers in about five days (presumably with the influence of spam and bot accounts mitigated), it remains to be seen whether the Horimiya anime is the true current holder of the "Biggest Premiere" record for a debut romantic comedy.
The Horimiya anime, which adapts HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara's manga of the same name, premiered on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on January 9. Funimation is currently streaming the anime with English subtitles.
I am confused why folks within a large friend circle find it strange to hang out if two of their friends or so have feelings within the circle.
The two friends who hang out at Hori's house. Hori and Miyamura are close friends who reveal sides they don't show at school like how Hori doesn't care about her appearances at home or Miyamura wears glasses at school.
I have a feeling this show might have a huge love web or something like Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea.
It was awkward for Hori when her mother who was interested in her male friend, Miyamura. Hori doesn't know Miyamura's first name. It's Izumi. The 2nd half also reveals Hori's secret of her bullying the student president to which she has to do their work. Bit of blackmail but they put it as comedic. The pink hair girl reminds me of Fire Emblem Three Houses' Hilda.
Izumi Miyamura's backstory is featured. He gets left out while his classmates treat him as creepy.
We see the boys looking over which class they got into. Tohru and Izumi are in the same class. On the rooftop, Izumi asks Tohru about how he feels about himself. Tohru states Izumi is pretty without glasses, doesn't call himself by first name, gets along with Hori, and never says what he truly means. (my pronoun grammar is messed up). I like this scene. Tohru gets annoyed with Izumi being embarrassed when calling Tohru by his first name.
There was a scene where Remi and Hori were conversing. Remi asks Hori if they were boyfriend and girlfriend with Izumi. When Remi asks to have Izumi, Horimiya got angry and refuses.
There is the hand scene. I actually experience that scene in school. It was for health class. The girls' hands are smaller than boys' hands. Well most of the time. We get some sort of love confession. Hori changed hers to loving Izumi's hands.
Then, Tohru overhears Remi's conversation with the green haired girl about the exchange between Remi and Hori.
Next day, both Tohru and Izumi show up with bruises on their faces. Hori and her female friend think they got into a fight. What happened was Tohru telling Izumi what he heard. Izumi dismisses it as they only have heard someone's side without really asking Hori of how she feels. Izumi tells Tohru that his feelings are affecting your perception. Tohru startles Izumi who hit Tohru. That escalates when Izumi grabbing and hitting Tohru after Tohru responds physically.
In a non realstic situation and to maximize happiness because for some reason if there is romance between friends in a group (I'm a loner, so I don't hang out with friends that close in middle or high school), Tohru and Izumi would be settle for each other. I don't think Hori will mind.
I was preoccupied with stuff. Missed the first portion of the episode. I got to the part where Hori was sick with fever. Izumi, for some reason, confessed his feelings when he thought Hori was sleeping in it.
We meet Horimiya's father who is laidback or lazy. According to Horimiya's father, Horimiya is violent and is like her mother. Makes me wonder how her mother and father fell in love. Horimiya tells her father "so what" to his boyfriend question. Not sure if that's official or anything. Horimiya and Izumi are much closer like they are holding hands in secret. Not dating in secret or anything else romantic.
The green haired bespectacled girl is interested in Tohru? We get some exposition on her. She's the beast to Remi who is the beauty.
Taka: Yeah, they did it. A difference with the scene in the manga is that Kyoko's brother, Souta, figured out they did it because of Izumi leaving his school pin in his sister's bedroom while they were getting it on. This detail got removed from the anime.
Someday I’ll be gone To somewhere that we belong And God has never played his role 'Cause I’m the one who saves my soul It’s a perfect world we’re longing for
That's interesting they left out that scene in the manga. It would made Souta more perceptive of his older sister and Izumi especially with Izumi coming over. I recall Souta concerned whether they drift apart in the future when Izumi graduates.
*Horimiya gets jealous and tells Izumi not to invite any boys. She's okay with women. That reminds me of Kurumu from Rosario Vampire. She didn't like the Chinese boy being too close with Tsukune. *First time a character named Yuki hates her name because snow is cold. *We also get the why snow melt thing. Reminds me of Fruits Basket. Their answer was different. *Sakura broke down in tears when seeing Izumi and Yuki hanging out. She still believes Izumi and Yuki's relationship because Izumi and Yuki are pretending. *We meet Yuki's older sister who is stunned Yuki rejected an "ikemen" (hot man). Yuki's older sister says Yuki is indecisive and complains after her decision. One past flashback - she didn't want a hair clip. Then, she wants one. Yuki's older sister gave her one.
We meet the little sister of the green haired boy. Just like a cliche, green haired boy has a hidden personality. (well Horimiya and Izumi have different persona but not as extreme as green haired boy). Both siblings think the other hate each other.
Ep 12 We meet Tohru's housekeeper (?). Tohru decides to keep things platonic or status quo with Yuki after a scene with his male friends who thought they were dating. Yuki gets misunderstandings thinking Tohru wants to have sex with her after Tohru took his tie, Tohru locks the door, and the housekeeper telling him not to do anything funny.
We go through Christmas and New Year's Day. Izumi proposed to Horimiya that Christmas night when Horimiya was pondering what she will do after high school. The two decide to stay together forever.
There were other characters but I blanked out on them.
Pretty vanilla romance - I think it could go either way for Tohru and Yuki since Tohru wants to keep it platonic while Yuki has feelings but doesn't want to progress it.
Old Man Dream: ...later titles in the Macross franchise can finally come stateside with all involved parties finally coming to a truce over how to handle things with the Macross trademark and all later anime in the franchise associated with it.

Taka: I see. A global release will benefit it. Gundam did pretty good. The only few franchises that are only popular in Japan but not popular in the west - Yokai Watch comes to mind.

Master Menos: F for Respects. DMX did all his work while suffering from a drug addiction, and I almost never knew until a point. I hope his next life treats him far better.
