Saitama has another ordeal besides not finding strong folks to fight. He is not getting any recognition. Which strikes me odd. Because he seemed humble since he is doing this for fun and not money or fame.
Hammerhead got lucky. Oh, I find it interesting that Saitama doesn't kill humans only monsters.
Also, the eyecatches in this show haven't been reused once. Every shade and color has been used once.
One Punch Man satirizes the exam arcs that are usually done in Shonen battle franchises such as the Naruto's Chunin Exams and Hunter x Hunter's Hunter Exams. Those arcs were long and in-depth. This show just breezes by in one episode. One personal nitpick is that their tests which are 2, physical and written, are not very good to based ranks on. There wasn't much detail on them.
How you prevent bad folks from entering the exam? Hunter x Hunter had a grey area with its exam because a license can let you get away with murder. I seen why Genos didn't see the exam as much challenge. I knew Saitama would fail since he's more of a Rock Lee guy, only doing well in physical.
Poor Genos, his master is only good in physical. He's just leeching off Genos. Saitama reminds me of Jiraiya to an extent without the pervertness. Genos won't get strong following Saitama (from what it looks like).
No worries. I kind of assumed you didn't know about this thread. The anime discussion is probably more active than the manga discussion. Figured to let you know if you want to post stuff. It's a bit strange that most manga discussions are not that active considering most of our battle folks are heavy readers.

Episode 6: Still going strong. Saitama ends up having hero work found for him and there's an area that even monsters are afraid to progress. A lot of parts were really funny. Two more notable appearances, but I'll spoiler them just to be safe.

Playing catch up again.. Episode 4 wow Hammerhead starts it off spouting socialist or later day communist talking points. Kind of unexpected... Um " Wait I just did not want to get a job " ok its coming back to me now that was in the manga. The irony line at the end was perfect vs what was just said on the tv.
Episode 5 hmm his sweat shirt had some um interesting text an symbols on it.
episode 6 Hmm his real words of wisdom was when the cyborg was not there " I will leave tomorrows problem for tomorrows me."
Yup will buy this on disc . I kind of expect netflix to nab this as one of their " originals" as well.
"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing." — Robert E. Howard, The Tower of the Elephant (1933)
Saitama runs into Sonic again. This episode reminds me of Gintama when the guy is looking for work. Episode preview says Blizzard won't be in the next week episode. Not sure if that's a joke or not. Lots of early appearance of these characters.
It was a set up episode for next fight for whatever it is.
Old Man Dream: Fun fact about The Rescuers: It has a dirty little secret you can find in older releases of the movie. (NSFW, as a heads up)

Taka: Didn't see anything until I read the description and comments. It goes by really fast. Edit: Someone really sneak in a picture. Edit 2: Tried pausing to find it. It's harder to track compared to REZERO's IF pictures

Old Man Dream: Set the playback speed on the video to 0.25x. Should make it easier to get a good pause on one of the two naughty bits. Both appear around 0:19ish in the video.
