The list actually look good with me seeing almost all of them. Also more variety and less shows being shove to every category. Granted not a fan of My Hero Academia having more than one character being in best boy and girl. Granted that could hurt MHA, but I feel like that is wasting a slot that could go to other shows. Also Princess deserved to be nominated as best girl, and My Hero list barely contain any real hero. Plus surprise Astolfo is not on the list.
Also my personal choice AOTY: Little Witch Academia because it was a complete package with great animation, character score etc and manage to be both fun and magical.
Best Action:Undecided to be honest as all the nominee are great. I mean from pure action stand point probably Fate, but story wise Blood Blockade, so I guess I pick in between and said, My Hero Academia.
Best Drama:Showa Genroku, even though I prefer Made in Abyss, and thought Showa Genroku season 2 is a disappointment, drama wise it was still engaging. Made in Abyss is not really a drama.
Comedy: Konosuba 2 since it is the most funniest out of all the option.
Best Slice of life:Girl Last Tour easily. Talk about philosophical subject while also being fun and atmospheric with a somber tone. A refreshing Moe anime.
Best Continuing Series: I guess Dragon Ball Super, but that because is the only one I keep up with from this selection.
Best animation:Either Little Witch Academia or Land of Lustrous. I guess Land of Lustrous is more impressive due to being a good looking CGI anime, but Little Witch Academia just has so many great expression, and fast pace animation. Undecided.
Hero of the Year:Deku because he the most hero character compare to the rest. I love Akko, but she not much of a hero if I am being honest. Honestly a bad list.
Villain:Stain easily, he was just so memorable with great design and spitting some truth about heroes.
Best Opening: Showa Genroku op was amazing, but glad Princess Principal got a mention even though Princess should be in best girl.
Best ending: Blood Blockade, never skip it.
Best boy: I would say Yakumo, but the fact that he potentially a Harvey Weinstein ruin that. I said Kazuma.
Best girl: Akko easily from the list. A fun girl that you can root for and want to succeed.
Best film: Your Name since I did not get to see Silent Voice.
Best CGI:Land of Lustrous is the only answer. I mean it use 2d animation as shortcut, not the other way around, and look amazing despite being almost entirely CGI with great compose shot and amazing camera work. Also Inuyashiki is on the list XD. Kemono Friend has more credibility.
Best Score: Made in Abyss but Land of Lustrous was also phenomenal. Made in Abyss rival Studio Ghibli soundtrack which is saying alot. Made the world feel vast and magical. Granted Land of Lustrous use their music better and have it work in scene flawlessly, but judging from the score alone, Made in Abyss.

Here´s my personal opinion on these:
Best Opening: Tough choice between AOT and MHA, but I´m going with AOT. I sing along with both, but everytime I hear "SASAGEYO, SASAGEYO, SHINZOU WO SASAGEYO!!!" I sing along as loud as I can, not caring how many ears I destroy in the process.
Best ending: No idea. Haven´t watched a single one of the nominees. Also usually skip endings anyway.
Best film: Haven´t watched a single one of these, so idk. Would like to watch "Your name" though.
Best CGI: Only watched AOT and RE:Creators of the selected ones, so I guess AOT gets another point here. I do love me some Re:Creators, though.
Best score: Don´t know what they mean by this. Also only watched Re:Creators and Ancient Magus Bride out the nominees.
Best animation: Only watched MHA, so I´m going with that.
Best action: Only watched MHA and AOT of the nominees. Technically also a bit of BBB, but not caught up with it. Giving my vote to MHA, though, mainly due to Midoriya vs Todoroki and Iida, Midoriya and Todoroki vs Stain.
Best drama: Only watched The Ancient Magus Bride, so I´m picking that one.
Best comedy: Only watched Konosuba. Going with that.
Best slice of life: No idea. This genre doesn´t interest me at all.
Best continuing series: DBS. Not just because it´s the only one I watched out the nominees, but also because it´s Dragon Ball. My favorite fictional franchise.
Best girl: Since neither of my top 4(Caulifla, Jirou, Christa and Selesia) made this list, I´m going with Chise.
Best boy: Only watched Konosuba and MHA, and out of those, Todoroki crushes the competition. I cheer Midoriya on with everything I have each time he fights, and I find Kazuma funny, but Todoroki is a freaking badass.
Best hero: Close between Chise and Midoriya, but I pick the latter. Had Yuna been here(I know that the series is older, but it got a sequel in 2017), I would have picked her.
Best villain: Only watched three of these, but I pick Stain. Cartaphilus is a jerk, which I think is important for a villain, and Usagi is straight up insane, but I don´t think either of these two match Stain. I just love MHA.
Best anime: MHA.
Best manga: Didn´t read any of the nominees. Only read action manga.
"Step Up LOVE (ステップアップLOVE)" by DAOKO x Yasuyuki Okamura - Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond
shadows in comparison to the first BB theme song
I only seen Your Name
I don't understand this category. The only shows that were completely in CG were Berserk, Kado, Land of the Lustrous, and some I can't remember
Have to look up the word score. Is that the soundtrack, no lyrics?
Animation is tricky - either the graphics or how much it oozes Sakuga
I pick Little Witch Academia since Trigger is known for Sakuga madness
Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans Season 2
Attack on Titan 2 didn't deliver on action. My Hero Academia was close for me but they could have done their minor characters a bit better
Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju Season 2 - pretty obvious but I doubt most people watch this because it only caters to older fans. The ending of it was very controversial that it made the anime severely unenjoyable or cringing after I saw people who praise season 1 ultimately went to disgust with season 2.
Best OP: "Here" by Juuna (Ancient Magus Bride) Best ED: "behind" by Karin Isobe, Yuna Yoshino, and Lynn (Just Because) Best Film: A Silent Voice Best CGI: Kado: The Right Answer. Best Score: Ancient Magus Bride Best Animation: Little Witch Academia Best Action: Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans Season 2 Best Drama: March Comes In Like a Lion Season 2 Best Comedy: Little Witch Academia Best Slice of Life: Tsuki ga Kirei Best Continuing Series: A toughie between Gundam: IBO and March Comes In Like a Lion. For greater impact, suppose I'm going with Gundam: IBO. Best Girl: Atsuko "Akko" Kagari Best Boy: Rei Kiriyama Best Hero: Chise Hatori Best Villain: Tanya Deugrechaff Anime of the Year: Little Witch Academia
Someday I’ll be gone To somewhere that we belong And God has never played his role 'Cause I’m the one who saves my soul It’s a perfect world we’re longing for
Somehow it got worst. Not a fan of them taking out genre. Especially not a fan of them not having 02 as best girl, because it seems like they not trying to listen to the fans, and pick what is consider prestige. Having less popular anime on the list. Yet they have a crappy movie call Fireworks (which I reviewed) on the movie nomination list when their is plenty of better movie that could have taken that spot. Just baffling. Also they overcorrect all the complaint about My Hero Academia yet Deku is still in best boy list, but not on best continuing series which it does deserve to be nominated for.
Also I feel like Zombie Land Saga got nominated just because of the Lily episode, and that is it. Not Bloom into you, Banana Fish, Aggretsuko, or even god damn MHA which had a better season than last year, but nope ZLS.
Whatever that all I got to say. Not going to bother watching the award or talking about it anymore.
There. So for best protagonist I would pick Retsuko. She was really relatable and likable. I am okay with the list. Maybe two characters could be replaced, but otherwise its decent.
Best Antagonist, is a solid list, I say Akane. She was a really interesting villain.
Best Boy, wtf is Deku here. MHA is not in Best continuing series yet its on best boy list wtf. I say Joe.
Best girl, wtf 002 is not here, nor is Akane. Like wtf Asirpa and that pink hair girl from Yuru Camp could be replaced. I feel like they trying to get away from the sex appeal stigma, and thus getting away from the fandom.
Best Op, wtf again XD. There so many better op. So many just ugh. From Megalo Box, Devil Man Crybaby, Happy Sugar Life, Kokkokou etc. There so many more opening that could had been here. Just Darling in the franxx op bc why not. Just terrible.
Ed - do not care but FLCL end song is great so that, but why is both anime is here.
Do not care for voice acting to be honest, even though I do respect their work.
Best Director, wtf is "Bloom into you" not here. It deserve to be here. I guess I pick MegaloBox.
Best animation, wtf is My Hero Academia and Bloom into you here. I love Bloom into you, but it looks great because of the direction, less because of the animation itself. Darling in the franxx, SSSS.Gridman, AoT S3, B the Beggining, Happy Sugar Life etc should had been here. ugh I guess Violet Evergarden which looks amazing.
Best Film, wtf is "Maquia and when the promise flower bloom" or "Big Fish and Begonia". Yet freaking Firework which nobody likes, universally panned in here. I guess I pick either Mirai or The Night is short walk on girl.
Best character design scene - again where Darling in the franxx, SSSS.Gridman, or even B the Beggining. Just ugh I guess Aggretsuko.
Anime of the year, Zombie Land Saga is only here for the Lily episode. I mean I get it, is cool they had a decent trans representation, but that does not make it good. SSSS.Gridman, Banana Fish, Aggretsuko would have been better. Just ugh. I guess I pick MegaloBox.
Best Fight scene.... I guess Jiren vs Goku, but I heard the boruto fight was awesome so need to see that. Hinmatsuri here is a joke.
Best Continuing series..... where SAO, My Hero Academia, Stein Gate, Food Wars, or AoT. Like seriously. I guess Dragon Ball Super. March come in like a Lion just turns me off with the art style.
So overall they way too hard to not have a other insert anime awards. Like how Yuri on Ice won everything, then MHA won almost everything except best anime of the year. Snubbing anime that should be in certain category so people do scream popularity contest. Yet they have MHA for stuff it does not belong to. It sort of remind me of the same problem the Oscar have with popular movies. Just ugh.
The first year they did - was bad since they had Yuri on Ice in most categories. It will be a challenge to get nominees as balance but at least try to make sure series don't have an overwhelming choice for the categories.
Best Protagonist - ok, I don't know they include Kakegurui since that aired in 2017. The protagonist is a bit weird.
Split between Retsuko and Sakuta
depends on one's view of protagonist. I have to go with Sakuta.
Best Antagonist - go with Devilman Crybaby's. I did like Golden Kamuy. Don't think Megalo Box should be there.
Best Boy - interesting choices. I have to go with manager of Zombie Land Saga even though he's the underdeveloped.
Best Girl - yeah, they didn't want to appeal to ecchi pandering. Jgames Wait, was Felix (re:zero), pink haired boy (Fate Apocrypha) was in previous entries? Surprised to see Lily and not the other Zombie girls. I guess I go with Aspira.
Best opening - Darling in the Franxx because it's memorable
Best ending - I don't remember any of them. Passed.
Best VA - I don't know really. I go wit Retsuko since death metal
Best VA English 0 never watched dub
best director - I didn' go into staff and auteur
best animation - they should separate art style and animation. For animation, I go based on sakuga which is fluidity of animated scenes. It has to be Devilman Crybaby. Megalo Box disappointed me. Violet Evergarden was just pretty
best film - don't know
best character design - MegaloBox has old retro look. Aggretsuko brought chibi to the level. Devilcrybbaby had a very stylish, dark but sometimes really ugly moments. Hard to say. The other entires are weak Passed.
best fight scene - why is Hinamatsuri there? My Hero Academia is more about dialogue and emotion. Dragon Ball Super has pacing issue. Devilman Crybaby is more flash and ecstasy. Boruto actually had good hand to hand combat animation but the ending was bad. I have to go with Devilman.
Best anime - Hinamatsuri - why not since I liked it but I couldn't vote for it
best continuing shows - not sure why Magus Bride and March comes in like a lion are here. I thinking they are going for shows continuing from last year. Some of these titles are long establishing serires with bigger fan base.
Taka: My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo was probably Ep 22.

Dream: The one with zombies excavating for treasure? Think that one's the most out there of episodes in the series. Mine's probably the one involving Mugen busting a counterfeit coin ring while trying to get nookie from a ninja girl disguised as a prostitute.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.
