Dropkick on My Devil!! Dash/ Dropkick on My Devil Season 2
Before we begin this short review, I have to inform the reader that I haven't seen season 1. I'm a person who likes to watch things legally if I can. Luckily, the anime is a comedy one so not much is lost other than establishing new characters. Season 2 had some new ones, but they didn't play too big of a role. I found out late that it's best to watch episode 11 of season 2 as it helps recap season 1. There are 10 episodes. The first episode establishes the plot of Jashin trying to return home but Yurine doesn't have the book. This leads to Jashin trying to kill her master.
After finishing the anime and without spoilers, the anime is decent. Said plot and goals of Jashin appears in the first few and last episodes. Most of the season 2 focuses on shenanigans and new characters to milk their quirks especially how awful Jashin is to Yurine or her friends from hell, mostly Medusa whom lends Jashin money. While Jashin is a terrible snake girl (the show does not specify if she's a lamia), she cooks, sews, and sings well (singing in Ep 12). The humor and violence go hand to hand. If you don't like toilet humor, your mileage will vary as there are some gross stuff with Jashin such as her going to the bathroom during an onsen (there was an earlier one) Yurine usually punishes Jashin for doing anything bad. For the last part of the humor, Jashin and her gang like to break the 4th wall and include various cultural references like anime ones. Some of them do require knowing Japanese culture.
As for ecchi content, there were not much other than gainax bounce in one episode with Minos, the minotaur girl. That's it. Animation is nothing special. The character design highlights cuteness and comical blood splatter. Not much to comment. For anyone who don't mind this type of humor and need something to binge to kill time, I recommend it. For me, it's not a memorable series.
