The anime will adapt the Romance Dawn manga that was published in Eiichiro Oda's Wanted! - Oda Eiichiro Tanpenshu short story collection. The adaptation will air on October 20 at 9:30 a.m. in the One Piece anime's timeslot.
Romance Dawn is Oda's "prototype" manga that eventually evolved into his hit One Piece series. Oda drew Romance Dawn as two separate pirate stories that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine's Summer Special issue and 41st issue of 1996. Both stories featured a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy as the main character, but were otherwise much different from each other and the actual One Piece manga that launched in 1997. Oda titled One Piece's first manga chapter "Romance Dawn" after these earlier manga stories. The two Romance Dawn one-shot manga stories have been republished in the One Piece Red and Wanted books.
It was a fine OVA or TV special of what One Piece prototype was if that was Oda's first versions
Nami is basically blue haired. Thought it was a mix of Vivi but I recalled Nami had a blue haired sister.
They had sidekick animal that didn't really contribute much, her weird ostrich thing.
I like they demonstrate Luffy's Devil Fruit powers and build it through with the applications of how he can use his powers compared to episode 1. However the villain's powers was too confusing. Was he a devil fruit user? He could fly on a broom, he could make things appeared, he can shoot stuff, he can use telekinesis? Unlike Luffy's power, he had no consistency. Info on One Piece dub
Funimation announced on Sunday that it has once again resumed English dubbing of episodes from the One Piece anime. Funimation did not announce a release date for the new dubbed episodes, but noted that the dub will pick back up with episode 575, the beginning of the anime's "Punk Hazard" story arc. Funimation released the English-dubbed episode 574 last year. Sunday marks the 20th anniversary of the One Piece television anime.
Luffy does his Robin Hood thing. I was confused why he stole a tub of water. i thought it was bath water. No, it was drinking water. Makes sense since the villagers cannot risk drinking polluted water.
Tama is a big Ace admiring fan. There were so many of this scenes up to this point.
If you are a Japanese history fan or scholar, you will love this episode. It talks about isolationism. While in real history, being isolated left the country vulnerable such as feudal Japan whose technology didn't had guns until the mongols or the west brought them.
You can see the old man getting frustrated as the snake lady teaches fabricated history to the children.
Meanwhile, Luffy reunites with the gang at the burn down Oden castle. Do we really have time traveling in this show? One Piece has some sci-fi elements but it doesn't have "magical" elements. I would expect time traveling in Fairy Tail but not One Piece.
Momosuke and the other clan members escaped the fires I presume by jumping forward in time.
Her name, Toki, literally means clock or time. I can't believe it but we have time travel but for this show, the Devil Fruit power can only skip time. You can't go back or forth. Or reverse time or forward time in a combat applications.
We wrapped things up and set up a plan. I am surprised Luffy didn't bat an eye or did anything when Kanjuro said we are going to behead Orochi and Kaido. The rebellion will occur at the festival and they are going to hitch a ride on the banquet ships to Kaido's island.
Ecchi fans of Nami will love this episode because of Kanjuro's perverted antics of two types of Kunoichi: sexy and frumpy. I had to look up the word frumpy. It means ugly.
I do enjoy the Strawhat's cluelessness with the attire such as Brooke's which the triangle clothing signifies he's an undead spirit. Brook thinks he is wearing panties on his head.
Taka: My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo was probably Ep 22.

Dream: The one with zombies excavating for treasure? Think that one's the most out there of episodes in the series. Mine's probably the one involving Mugen busting a counterfeit coin ring while trying to get nookie from a ninja girl disguised as a prostitute.

Master Menos: Updates complete. As for a life update, I'm quitting my fast food job soon. Was good for my very first job, but things are getting FAR too chaotic for my tastes.

Dream: Far as job front goes on my end, still waiting on projects to start up with my freelance job. Beyond that, nothing new for other work in my search.

Dream: Just completed Spice and Wolf. Plan to work on a review for it sometime tomorrow. Too late to have any inhibition to get one done from my end.

Dream: Last anime I will be covering is Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo. Will start watching it tomorrow. Not sure how much longer I can keep myself up at this point.

Taka: Depending on my energy, I can watched up to 2 AM. Usually with work, I fall asleep on anime series that don't have a lot of action.

Master Menos: Finally got out of the fast food job. It was a graceful exit, but to be honest, I'll miss some of those guys. Got a sprained ankle from it since September, so I'll finally focus on healing that back at the family home.

HungryWorld: Well if anyone remembers what happened to Pingu in the City, with it being joke 10/10 scored on MAL just to get it into the top 10 anime... well now is Ishuzoku Reviewers' turn. Seems that in response to Funimation's cancel people boosted the score hard.

Taka: What? That sounds so weird.

Master Menos: It's damn awesome to be honest. It shot to 1st Place!

Dream: On the subject of MAL, it looks like the admin are planning to tweak their scoring system for titles to reduce the likelihood of voters artificially inflating the ranking of certain titles.

Master Menos: My V-Day present will be belated this year because I "Had some trouble with ol' Johnny." (That's your hint.)

Dream: The joys of adulthood. Joking aside, plan to at least attempt to wrap up Gankutsuou sometime early to mid next week so I can get done with my Funi voted titles. Afterward, not doing any more voting for a while considering how long this had been taking.

Dream: Done with Gankutsuou. Will be working to get a review up for it by sometime tonight.
