Ever since Shoyo saw a short-statured volleyball pro dominate in a National Championship, he’s been determined to become the next big thing in High School Volleyball. Unfortunately, he’s barely played the game. The only time he was able to play in junior high, his team was defeated in their first and only match against a team lead by up-and-coming setter Tobio. Now in high school, Shoyo finally has a chance to join a real team. The catch is: he must learn to play on a team with his old nemesis.

All that panic about the exams was hilarious! I love these characters! I do believe that in this sole episode Shimizu had more lines than the entire first season. Btw, can't blame the new girl for having a bit of a crush there.
EDIT: OH yeah, I forgot to mention this little cutie pie!
Love that they just showed the girl volleyball player (don't remember her name) at a random flashback in episode 4. I was so confused because I thought I missed an episode where Shimizu and Yachi were talking to her lol.
Ep. 5 gets really intense when Kageyama and Hinata literally fight! (kind of). Poor Yachi had no idea what to do. Luckily she got Tanaka to break it up, but I felt so bad for her when she was trying to ease the tension between the two.
I'm a bad person. I don't remember you not being a sports fan.
Kuroko's Basketball was special in that it uses "shonen" powers in its matches. I know some folks were put off because it made basketball a bit unrealistic. I probably be bored if it's just regular basketball. You can tell I started out in anime as a Shonen fan then branch off to try other things.
Taka: Virtual anime conventions - this year has been taking twists and turns. People are making adjustments. I think I spend over 100 dollars every time I go to Anime Expo each year (counting in total of badge cost, food, transportation, and merchandise).

Taka: I'll be saving money. Though, the pandemic has caused a lot of folks to have reduced hours, took time off, or laid off. Most folks' disposable income is a bit tight.

Dream: With Appare Ranman resuming in a few weeks, guess I'll cream through whatever episodes were released before its delay to see if I'll stick with the remaining ones this season.

Taka: So Tenchi Geminar has a school full of mostly girls just like Infinite Stratos and many harem shows.
Jul 8, 2020 6:50:40 GMT
Dream: Yeah. After Tenchi Muyo, Masaki Kajishima dabbled into several other harem titles, some of which not being based in the Tenchi timeline, which all have the same resolution of where the male lead "has them all." But they aren't really as popular.

Taka: I need to finish Geminar and GXP. Just cancel FUNimation which leaves me until July 23rd unless there are at least 3 shows that catch my eye from this season.
Jul 9, 2020 3:27:17 GMT
Dream: Believe GXP was pulled from Funi's streaming site last year because their digital rights to the series expired. But you should still be able to stream War on Geminar on their site.
Jul 9, 2020 13:36:38 GMT
Taka: Darn, for some reason I thought it was still there. I finished Geminar. Well, I guess I proceed and watch the rest of those OVAs on CR.
Jul 10, 2020 1:37:08 GMT
Taka: I think I can write a review on Geminar. I wished I made a discussion thread and kept notes on it. I tend to forget small details and make mistakes when interpreting character actions.
